Reads like a novel it's so scarey it's true

The Creature From Jeckyll Island, By G. Edward Griffin 'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson, our 3rd President I sit before you tonight with a great deal of concern for the future of our nation. In 1913 President Woodrow Wilson passed into law the Federal Reserve, and once this banking cartel(part private bank backed by government) came into being it brought with it the seeds of misery and totalitarianism. Griffin will tell you a tale that reads better than any fiction novel about a private network of Central banks that plan to enslave the world through a one world currency and government. He documents everything he brings before the reader with congressional records, U.N. documents, and the words of the international bankers themselves. By the end of this book you will see the Federal Reserve for what it really is: A mechanism of our republics destruction, a mechanism of taxation via the hidden tax inflation, and one of the greatest threats to both our liberty and freedom. I can not put into words the impact this information has had on me. A well researched and thorough book not only of our Federal Reserve system, but of all the torment that has and will someday come with it some of which you are starting to witness now. If you read only one book outside The Bible this year this should be it. 5 stars hands down.... 'They may pass a law to issue paper money, but twenty laws will not make the people receive it. Paper money is founded upon fraud and knavery.' George Mason in a letter to George Washington. 'The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either.' Benjamin Franklin. 'For the love of money is the root for all kinds of evil.: 1 Timothy 6:10A

This book is engaging, informative, and is written in a clear manner. Above all, it is TRUE. See the Federal Reserve for what it really is: An enemy to freedom and prosperity!

    Unbelieveably accurate.

I have read many books on this subject, and this is far and away the creme de la creme. It really shows the inner workings of the inner circle that fought hard to get a Central Bank for the United States. It worked with the Rothschilds in Europe, and they used the same philosophies to create the same system in the US. Read this, and become aware. Am I a banker or politician? Of course not.

    PURE BALONEY!!!

I read the book and agree with Griffin on how the Federal Reserve operates (for the most part). However, Griffin presents the most ridiculous views on why the Fed operates as it does. Read a book on economics 101 before you read this book on conspiracy--that way you will be able to cut through the paranoia.

A Book Straight From the Headlines!

It is not often that a historical book can be read and people can watch it play out in the newspaper (what's left of them!) on CNN or the Internet! From the meltdown of the housing sector to government bailouts of the finacial and automobile industries to allegations of fraud at Goldman Sachs to the hundreds of bank failures since the turn of the century, this book lays it out for everyone to see. It's Colonel Mustard in the library with the candlestick!

Quite a hefty tome with a subject matter that may require more than average brainpower to fully digest. Nonetheless it still manages to be a real page turner as it tears through the most incredulous attitudes like a hobo on a ham sandwich! (Very well annotated for the studious and skeptic alike).

a must read for all americans

this book should be used as a textbook in all high schools and colleges. it's contents should be compared to that content found in the mainstream finance and history books currently in use. especially in light of the financial shenanigans going on in america today; shenanigans which started with the bankers and the one worlders many years ago. this book is an eye opener. highly recommended to everyone concerned about the current economic and political state of affairs. buy it and share it.

An eye-opening view of history and prophesy

Having worked in banking some 30 years, I have been well exposed in numerous banking schools to many banking principals including how banks create money, etc. Of course this is always portrayed as a positive thing. Having been exposed to some 70 years of inflation, I am well aware of the down side. This book very clearly shows the reason for our present dilemma and very accurately forecasted what has happened in the bailout of 2009. It also shows that we are near the limit of keeping this scam afloat. Anyone who pooh-poohs this book is either a tout for the establishment or has their head deeply imbedded in the sand.

    Excellent Book

Jekyll Island delves into the complicated world of central banks and makes it fascinating and easy to understand. I throughly enjoyed the book and now understand the relationship between politics and the role central banks play in the tax and inflation policy that consumers and citizens suffer from. It shows how citizens ignorance is used to make the rich richer through the smoke and mirrors of central banks.

    I Also Recommend:

    A Great read!

Among the controversies about the current money system in the United States, the most contentious is Jekyll Island or the Federal Reserve System. Ever since the organizations have been formed, the debt in and of the United States continues to rise. The American people are like sheep being led to the slaughter and the bankers greed will not be fulfilled until America wakes up homeless on the ground their forefathers built.

We need to break free from this cycle by recognizing the deceit and trickery that is the root of all evil. Current events are changing fast; a socialistic New World Order is being primed and the middle class will disappear. Another good one that teaches how is Thy Kingdom Come - Overcoming in a Failing Economy by Anthony Reinglas

    Amazing book

I don't know how this gets 1 star from people. Everything in the book is cited, I don't understand how this information could be false as some claim. Filled with amzing quotes and history lessons that you have never learned in school. (Ex. Russia's and England's involvements in the civil war). A must read for Historians, economists, or anyone who likes to have a better idea on how our government really works.

    False information

This is by far the worse book I've read. The information presented is totally not accurate and false. I have no idea whatsoever where Mr. Griffin gets his info. People, just go about with your lives as normal and forget this book was ever written. What's that you ask? Am I a banker or politician? Of course not.

A powerful indictment of the system

After being exposed to this material, your eyes will be opened, and you will probably be furious at the system. Griffin did his homework. It's hard to believe we've put up with this system for so long.

    Great book

This is hands down the best book I have ever read, easy reading on a heavy subject. If you want to make sense of the world that you live in where most people view symptoms of the problem, this is revealing. A must read for those who want to know, it should be required reading for graduates. Loved it!!!

This is an interesting analysis of the banking system. Frankly,

This is an interesting analysis of the banking system. Frankly, some of the historic insights, if not conspiracies highlighted in the book, were an eyeopener and to be honest did result in a detailed search on Google. Before this book the impression was that modern history revolved around oil, apparently it revolves around money and banking, and apparently continues to do so. Curiously the critique does not challenge the books finding about key events including Waterloo, Russian revolution the American Civil War. So assume all that is true?
