Overview

Announcing a brand new idea in publishing books for babies: the completely durable, completely safe Indestructibles. Published on the same paper-like material used in shipping envelopes, Indestructibles are 100% baby-proof: chew-proof, drool-proof, and rip-proof. That's because Indestructibles not only will not tear or turn gummy with teething, but they are also completely washable.

Indestructibles are also energetic, beautiful, and created just for baby. The printing material reproduces color artwork with uncommon depth, and with no residual inkiness; the artwork, paintings by Kaaren Pixton and reminiscent of Eric Carle, is happy, each page a simple, colorful image of an animal or bird or insect against a rich, textured background. The effect is 3D-like and completely visual. There are no words, making each perfect for parents and babies to look at together, with mom or dad telling the story.

Three titles launch the series: Creep! Crawl! about animals that crawl, Flutter! Fly! about animals that fly, and Wiggle! March! about farm animals—books babies can really sink their teeth into.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ken Marantz and Sylvia Marantz
Very young children are hard on books. They not only "read" and reread them. They chew on them, tear them; even take them into the bathtub. "Indestructibles" are the answer to this wear and tear. They not only cannot be torn, they are non-toxic and washable. Unlike many other books aimed at babies, Creep! Crawl! also has illustrations that are delightfully, esthetically made. Naturalistic painted images of the crawling creatures are presented as friendly and set in somewhat textured amorphous backgrounds. Including just the names of the individual characters in bold letters might have added a touch so that even the youngest might note the relationship of word and picture, as well as informing the reader of the exact name. These books are amazing. I love being able to give my baby her very own book (actually more like a magazine which is even better for her, she loves to crinkle them up and chew on them) so that she doesn't get upset when she can't have mine. I also like that there are no words so I can make up a new story to tell her as often as I like or I can just tell her the names of the animals and plants. My baby is seven months old and she loves them and so does my two year old nephew. Only wish I had found these sooner!

I bought this book for my 6 mo old to play with instead of chewing on his older brother's board books. The Indestructibles (Creep Crawl and Wiggle March) have cute illustrations with no words so you can make up a story as you go along OR just let baby go to town chewing and drooling all over them!!! It definitely keeps him occupied to turn pages and try to "eat" the books. Love it!

Simply put, Indesctructible books are indispensable. These were perfect for my daughter from 3 months on. They've been chewed, wrinkled, slobbered on and loved for six months now and still in great condition. Such a great product to introduce your little one to books. They're thin so they're perfect for the diaper bag and the artwork is just beautiful. I love them and more importantly, she loves them.
