Tomi Ungerer is a wonderful illustrator and the story is wonderful on many levels. Besides introducing a surprising pet-a boa constrictor-there is also an introduction to the alphabet.

As a child my parents would read Crictor every night before bed. During a recent move, I discovered my beloved book, except the inner pages had gotten destroyed. I am soo glad BN had this book for sale!! Now I can read it to my own kids at bedtime. :)

I enjoyed this book as a child and now again as an Elementary Teacher. It's a wonderful adventure into the life of an exotic, interesting woman and her pet snake. The situations the snake gets into are sure to hold children's interest. I highly recommend this for all creative, curious, animal loving kids and adults!
