Meet the Author

Este fue el segundo hijo de un médico del ejército. Fue educado en casa y en una escuela privada. Poco después de la muerte de su madre en 1837 fue enviado a San Petersburgo, donde ingresó en el Colegio de ingenieros del ejército. Padre de Dostoievski murió en 1839, probablemente de la apoplejía, pero se rumoreaba que fue asesinado por sus propios siervos. Dostoievski se graduó como ingeniero militar, pero renunció en 1844 para dedicarse a la escritura. Su primera novela, pobres gentes apareció en 1846.

    Crimen y castigo es otra obra maestra de Dostoievski. Varias veces dejó de leer y me encontré obligado a continuar!! El suspenso fue abrumador. El autor tenía una extraordinaria habilidad para propiciar un giro tras giro a la historia. El camino fue capaz de describir algunos de los personajes defectos y virtudes me hizo llorar varias veces. Esta pieza de la literatura tiene que ser una visita obligada para todas las escuelas, incluyendo las facultades de derecho. El autor era en efecto el Freud de su tiempo. Daría este trabajo diez estrellas!!
