Overview

It's a happy time for Sloan Trent and Jane Everett. What could be happier than the event of their wedding? Their Krewe friends will all be there and the event will take place in a medieval castle transported brick by brick to the New England coast. Everyone is festive and thrilled . . . until the priest turns up dead just hours before the nuptials. Jane and Sloan must find the truth behind the man and the murder—the secrets of the living and the dead—before they find themselves bound for eternity—not in wedded bliss but in the darkness of an historical wrong and their own brutal deaths.

Of course, with so many books in this series, there are no surprises. Fun short story, I liked it a lot.

The small kitten lay sprawled in the snow, her grey fur glazed over with thin ice. Her eyes were shut firmly and every one of her ribs were visible. She would die soon if nobody came to help her...

Emma strolled into the woods, her boots crunching against the icy snow. She stepped into the clearing, and caught the sight of the kit out of the corner of her eye.

Soon a boy in a grey hoodie appeared and walked halfway across the clearing before noticing the kitten. He dashed over to the kitten and turned to the girl, carrying the kit.
"Can you help?" He asked her. "This kitten's starving and half dead."
Emma nodded slowly. "We can take her to my house; it's right outside the woods."
The boy bnodded and headed down the path out of the woods.

They soon arrived at the foot of a large cottage. The boy kept on glancing down at the kit nervously.
Emma pulled out a huge keyring and unlocked the door. She stepped inside and took off her boots and ski jacket.
The boy followed her and set the kitten in front of the fireplace.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Emma. Emma Johnson." The girl purred.
"I'm Sutter Treenton." The boy replied.

~&#9788&#10008

I might have bought this if the free sample had actually contained some of the book. It only has information about the author.
