Dios se convertía en Padre del patriarca concebido bajo un pacto sempiterno; y Jesús—en estas sus parábolas que analizamos—le hace un recuento a su pueblo de lo ingratos que habían sido al tomar su origen tan a la ligera, tal como cuando Esaú vendió su primogenitura por un plato de frijoles colorados.

Esaú, al igual que su hermano Jacob, eran el producto de la inconstancia humana. Una vez que Jacob (Israel) se convierte en poderosa nación—sus descendientes hebreos—el pueblo comenzó a creerse dueño absoluto de su destino; y cuando esto ocurre tendemos a desechar a Dios…hasta la burla. Cuando el alma de un pueblo desecha a su Hacedor y Divino Creador, el alma de toda la nación es amenazada con sufrimiento.
