Crochet Lace: An Illustrated Guide to Making Lace Fabrics

Crochet Lace: An Illustrated Guide to Making Lace Fabrics

by Mary Konior

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
There is no dearth of information on decorative crochet lace worked in fine cotton thread, but until now instruction and patterns for making crochet lace fabric in fine wool yarns has been largely nonexistent. With the same meticulous attention to detail that was evident in her earlier Heritage Crochet: An Analysis (Dryad Pr., 1987), Konior shares with the reader her collection of lace fabric patterns and designs for shawls using the patterns. Each pattern includes written instructions, instructions in diagram form using international symbols, and photographs showing the work in such detail that an experienced crocheter could work from the illustrations alone. The American reader should be aware that British terminology is used in the written patterns, but this is not a major inconvenience. Highly recommended where there is demand.-- Janice Zlendich, California State Univ. Lib., Fullerton
