Croon And Swoon: A Classic Christmas, Vol. 2

( 1 )

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Not every performer on Relativity's Croon and Swoon: A Classic Christmas Vol. 2 is strictly a crooner -- it's impossible to call Mahalia Jackson a crooner, and Brook Benton, Julie Andrews, Doris Day, and Eartha Kitt may be pushing the definition as well -- but most of them are. And even if it doesn't adhere rigidly to its title, the end result is a pretty entertaining collection of 17 holiday favorites sung by the likes of Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Jerry Vale, Mel Torme, Lena Horne, Andy Williams and Johnny Mathis. Not a perfect collection, but a very entertaining one, all the same.

One of the best Christmas CDs ever!

This CD is a real surprise. If you like being brought back in time, you'll like this one. Mel Torme's perfect pitch in "Chestnuts Roasting on a Open Fire" starts the flow of great tunes. If you liked the movie, "White Christmas" then you'll enjoy Bing Crosby singing "Happy Holiday." Two of my favorites are "Christmas Island" and "Santa Baby." Lena Horne's "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" is so smooth it WILL make you "swoon." Louis Armstrong does an awesome version of "Winter Wonderland." The latter part of the CD has a few of the more classic songs such as, "The First Noel" and "Do You Hear What I Hear." Finding Christmas CDs that have a total package of great songs is hard to come by and this one is really a great find! Go buy it; you won't be disappointed.
