Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
McCabe’s second Vampire Federation urban fantasy (after February 2011’s Uprising) tangles humans and vampires in lugubrious intrigues. Det. Joel Solomon wakes up in Romania and realizes that he’s been turned into the thing he hates most: a vampire. Federation agent and vampire Alex Bishop changed Joel to save his life and must now deal with bureaucratic fallout from recent attacks on the Federation and its members. Meanwhile, skier Chloe Dempsey finds the pieces of a mysterious cross, not realizing the power it has to destroy vampires, but the villainous vampire Gabriel Stone will do whatever it takes to recover it. The multiple characters and complicated stories make the first half of the book a slow read. The pace picks up when they eventually intersect, and a bloody, climactic fight adds some excitement to the end of the story. (Dec.)
Library Journal
Since their excesses have been curtailed by the Vampire Federation, the undead coexist with humans until a cannibalistic serial killer threatens the balance. A hunt through Eastern Europe forces detective (and now vampire) Joel Solomon to team up with his former girlfriend, Vampire Federation agent Alex Bishop.

I really enjoyed both books. However, this last book just dropped off and I cannot find any information on a third book? Is there going to be one?

McCabe's follow-up to Uprising continues the action-packed, story-driven style that kept me enthralled throughout the first installment of the series. I love that the reader is allowed to travel so much with the characters and that mystery is built through the writing style (each chapter pretty much takes place in a different setting, picking up where we left off a few chapters ago). The Vampire Federation series continues to delight!
