The essence of being a follower of Christ

David McGee and this book did it for me. You can sit in church for years and never really grasp the practical steps needed to succeed in following Christ. Those steps have been brought to light once again in a new and insightful way. David takes his readers through the very practical and personal realizations that living a life for Christ is within our grasp, if we would only choose that path for ourselves. This is Christianity 101; a fresh look at the faith for any who might be seeking, those who have found and need direction, and for those who have been following and just allowing life's obstacles to impede their growth. Read and be enriched!

    highly recommended

I loved this book. It presents an engaging, even entertaining, treatment of some very complex spiritual truths. They are dealt with in a clear, relevant and humorous way. It offers a life-changing perspective on things that really do matter...in the 'here and now' as well as in the 'there and then'.
I researched David McGee and found a new favorite! He is one of the most gifted Bible teachers out there today. www.davidmcgee.org
I recommend this book and will have a copy in my permanent library as well as giving it to those I truly love and care about. My Christmas shopping just got a lot easier!!!

    Making it simple

This book takes the complexities of the christian life and puts them into understandable and relative terms. It is a quick and easy read that does not use a bunch off huge words that no one really understands without a dictionary. Yet the content is extremely potent and life-altering.

Great guide for living out your faith

Having been a Christian for a while now I found some of David McGee's book to be review, but we all need those reminders from time to time as we get busy and forget what is important. Beyond that this book is filled with 'I never thought of it that way before' moments that bring new insight to living out your faith. After reading this book I felt refreshed in my walk.

In David McGee's book, this first time author tells us in plain and simple terms, how to have a content life, yet a life that has a positive effect on the people around us and hopefully, the world. David writes with humor, love and warmth and one will immediately feel the "genuineness". David has made the mistakes that he hopes to prevent us from...and he explains these pitfalls and how we can avoid them. Motivating, Life-changing Must Read!

"Wow! This book offers a life-changing message that gives hope to the lost and assurance to all who believe. The book delivers a fresh and personal perspective that speaks to the very heart of all who are searching for their place in life, and equips the reader with simple, easy to follow steps to live life at its fullest.

The relevant way David addresses the reader's attitude about going to church, knowing the Bible, knowing God and living for God really ignites a passion in the reader to live a blessed and God-destined joyful, hopeful life. I've read a lot of spiritual, inspirational self-help books, but David McGee's book is by far the most comprehensive and yet the most motivating reads I've read. The love and guidance this book offers can get any reader off the couch and serving Christ and His Kingdom fully. I recommend this book for personal discipleship or as a small group study tool. You will be blessed by this read."

    A worthwhile read ...

Confession time: I don't read many books ... most are too long, don't get to the point, and when it comes right down to it, they don't make any difference in my life.

Cross the Bridge to Life is definitely different. It's short enough to be easy to read, yet conveys very powerful and relevant points in a fun and easy to understand way. I've actually read it several times now, and talked about a lot of the content with my friends.

It's very useful, practical, and real. I'm pleasantly surprised that an easy read like this is so very useful. Thanks, David, for writing this one!
