Wyatt Conner is a hard man. A sixth generation sheriff in his hometown of Garnet. A former MMA fighter. His life is about following the rules and making sure everyone else in Garnet follows them too.

Before life hurt him, Wyatt was a different person. Love had once blinded him to his upbringing and made him defiant against anyone who tried to separate him from the girl he loved. He easily broke laws to ensure her safety.

When she left it destroyed him.

Now she's back.

Tabitha knows coming home is a mistake, but family obligation demands it. Of course she would run smack into the love of her life the day she returns.

Despite the danger, Tabitha is powerless against the wild rush of desire that explodes between them the moment she finds herself in Wyatt's arms again. They deserve a second chance, both of them, but she can't risk Wyatt finally discovering the real reason she left.

He broke the rules for her once, and now her haunted past threatens the man she loves--the man he's become--again. If he learns everything she's suffered, he'll cross the lines to take revenge. Tabitha just can't risk it. Not even for another taste of true love.

As the third book in Kele Moon’s Battered Hearts Series, this is undoubtedly my favorite out of the three. I was so excited to read about why Wyatt was so heartbroken and while reading I became heartbroken for him, but mostly for Tabitha. Wyatt fell in love with the pretty red head when they were just little kids. One day he gave her his bag of cookies to cheer her up and he instantly became her hero. He didn’t know that she didn’t have any food to eat and the cookies were a lifeline for her and her best friend, Clay. Tabitha came from a horrible home life. Her brother beat her up and his friend lusted after her ever since she could remember. Her mother was a drunk who couldn’t hold a job, but that didn’t stop Tabitha from protecting her family. She covered for the beatings Brett gave her and she covered for her mother’s drunkenness by saying she was ill. Wyatt and Tabitha’s love grew as they did, but their respective families didn’t want them together. Wyatt’s dad, as the town sheriff, was afraid Tabitha would end up like her mother. Tabitha’s mother and brother hated the law and anyone associated with it. So, they met in secret and carried on their relationship until one night while away at a fight that Clay and Wyatt were both in. Wyatt asked her to marry him and she agreed. He wanted to tell everyone and move her into his father’s house as soon as they got back to town, but she was afraid to tell her mom and shatter her world. They fought about it one night when he took her home after work and then something horrible happened that rocked both of their worlds. Tabitha left town, Wyatt, and never came back. Neither one of them divorced the other, so they lived apart, but still married, and broken hearted for thirteen years. My heart just crushed for all that this couple endured. Even though Wyatt could be a hot head and opened his mouth before thinking, he loved Tabitha with all he had. Tabitha didn’t know any different and was so co-dependent on her mother that she couldn’t see that life would have been so much better away from her (and it did end up being better). The fact that these two still stayed faithful to each other while apart spoke volumes for the depth of their love – and that it can overcome even the worst of circumstances. This book also featured a lot of the other characters from the previous books. Jules and Romeo had twin babies, Melody helped out Tabitha, and Clay even made up with Tab. Hal and Terry played a part in this story, too. Everything came together and everyone’s lives turned out pretty well. After reading this book and the series, I absolutely adore Kele Moon’s writing and can’t wait to hunt for more from this fabulous author! *A copy of this book was provided for review.

This book took me on an emotional ride. I cried, laughed and grinned like a total dork through this whole entire book. I absolutely LOVED it! I don’t have the words to describe how much I loved it. This is the kind of read that you want to go back in time and reread all over again just because it was that good. I didn’t want it to end. We all have heard of Wyatt and the mysterious Tabitha. This book goes back in time and we all hear their story. What they all face together is so sad and heartbreaking. Wyatt’s love for her never waivers he will do whatever he can for her. He has been in love with her since he first saw her in kindergarten. We learn a lot about their childhood including a lot about Clay also. Their love for each other is so strong. Wyatt is so protective and loyal. Tabitha has had a really hard life growing up. After Tabitha and Wyatt get married something tragic happens and she leaves to protect Wyatt. But she returns home years later because her mother is sick. The first day home she runs right into Wyatt and she knows she can’t fight what she feels anymore. Wyatt’s and Tabitha’s story isn’t an easy one but there love holds strong and they conquer all together and find they’re happily ever after. <3 What I didn’t like about this book was I didn’t want it to end!! D: I rate this book 5+ stars!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Unlike the previous two books, this book began in the present with Wyatt and Tabitha's reunion. After that, it was broken up into parts, highlighting important milestones in this couples' lives. It was a very interesting way of telling the story that way rather than keeping them as adults and seeing their past in flashbacks. The book started out as adult, then went YA to NA and back to adult. I felt so much closer to them, and their journeys impacted me on a deeper level. The story also showed how Clay had become friends with the twins, and it even showed the friendship between Terry, Hal, Nova and Tabitha. Talk about surprising! Starting when they were eight, it was so cute to see Wyatt's infatuation with the shy girl whose only friend was Clay. Even as a child he was growly *laughs*. But holy crap, Tab's childhood broke my heart! I understood why she couldn't and wouldn't ask for help or accept it once her plight became known. I thought she would have a change of heart once she was old enough to live her own life, but by then I suspect her feelings towards her mother had been so ingrained in her, she didn't know how else to be. It was a little infuriating but sadly realistic. What really stood out was Wyatt unwavering infatuation that gradually morphed into love. He was sweet, cheeky, protective and he loved to pester her. The hardest part to read had to be that moment when everything fell apart - Tab's inability to stand up for herself, Wyatt's impatience (and understandable frustration and hurt) and the horrific fall-out that led to her disappearance for thirteen years. Don't expect this book to have MMA/UFC scenes (save for one very brief one) in it like the others. This book was all about the characters we'd come to know and love and the paths their lives had taken to shape them. If you don't mind a lot of angst, seeing children grow into adults and dealing with unpleasant things, and if you loved the other two books, then this will likely blow you away.

Wow! Hot ,steamy, passionate and heartbreaking! Wyatt and Tabitha have loved each other since the third grade. Through the good and bad they held on even when the bad threaten to end them. This story is a real page turner: full of angst, suspense and evil-doers getting the pounding they deserve. I like that we get to see the progression of the lives of the characters from the first two books in the series. Absolutely loved it!!!!

Another great story for this series! I really liked getting to read about Wyatt and Tabitha from the beginning, literally! Also to see how Wyatt and Clay became best friends. I hated that they lost so many years but was happy to see that they immediately seemed to pick up where it went bad! And I love being kept up to date on all of the other characters! I would really love to see some more good memories for Nova, he deserves them!

4.3 Star Review - Crossing the Line I recommend this book. I enjoyed this book by Kele. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, and betrayal. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading these first: Defying the Odds (Battered Hearts #1) Star Crossed (Battered Hearts #2) Wyatt has loved Tabitha and wanted to be with her for as long as he can remember. Tabitha has wanted Wyatt and loved him for a long time. Wyatt is a protector. He will kill for Tabby if he has to but she would never want him to. After fighting with him one night she goes home and the unthinkable happens to Tabby. After going to the hospital she gets worried that he will in fact kill for her so she runs from him. Leaving everyone in the town to believe the worst about her rather then ricking Wyatt's future. When she is forced back to town to care for her mother will the secret come out? How will she survive seeing Wyatt? Does she even deserve a HEA? I love Wyatt's protective side. Love that when Tabby goes away she becomes stronger. This story goes through Wyatt and Tabby growing up. You learn a lot about them and might even understand the choices that Tabby makes. Makes you wonder if you were in that same situation would you choose the same? Totally love this story and can't wait for the next one in this series.

Wyatt has only ever loved one girl. When she left him without a word more than 10 years ago, she took his heart with her. Now she is back in Garnet and no one is going to stop him from seeing her. Tabitha didn't leave Wyatt because she stopped loving him; she left to protect him. But protect him from what, only her and a few other people know. Now that she is in town to help her sick mother, she will have to come face to face with the man she broke. Do they have any chance of reconciling with her secret still looming over them? I have to say that I was apprehensive when I started this book because I wasn't very fond of either character. From the bits and pieces Jules mentioned of Tabitha in book two, I hated her fro breaking Wyatt's heart. But then I also thought Wyatt was a complete jerk for saying some hurtful things to Jules when she finally found her own happiness. It didn't take me very long to change my tune though. This book is broken up into several "parts", many of which take place in the past showing us how Wyatt and Tabitha got started. Tabitha was the poor girl from the other side of the tracks while Wyatt was part of the well loved Conner family and grandson of the Sheriff (and then son of the Sheriff). At 5 years old, Wyatt didn't care about their differences. All he saw was the pretty red headed girl whom he instantly fell in love with. Over the years, with his ridiculous persistence, Wyatt wormed his way into her life and her heart and they become good friends. However she never let on how bad her home life is with a neglectful alcoholic mother and a verbally and physically abusive older brother. I could tell the direction Tabitha's story was going in and it broke my heart. As we go through time and watch their love fore each other continue to grown and deepen, you can't help but wait for it: the inevitable event that will change their lives because we already know it is coming. We just don't know what it is. And even though you are preparing yourself for it, that doesn't make it hurt any less. While I completely understand why Tabitha chose to leave, I don't agree with it, She was young then so I can forgive her for that, but they are adults now so it was frustrating when she still refused to explain it all to Wyatt. And god love Wyatt because as much as he wanted to know the truth, he welcomed her back into his life without a second thought. I no longer thought he was a jerk, just a man who had his heart shattered. This was really a wonderful journey to read. I went from starting out with cold feelings towards both characters to fully embracing them and their love by the end. getting to go back to the beginning and get a glimpse of Wyatt and Tabitha at each important stage of their young lives really gives you some great insight into the challenges they faced both alone and together and how they became the adults they are today. I wanted nothing more for them to get the happily ever after that they deserved all of those years ago. Crossing The Line was another great read in this series and I am looking forward to more. Especially Tino and Nova someday, who make more appearances in this book and my love for Nova and his loyalty continues to grow.
