My husband is not a reader, but he'll sit for hours at the dining room table doing crossword puzzles. So, every few months I head to the book store and bring home 3 or 4 puzzle books for him. Crossword Superstars on the Red Carpet fits the bill, and if you're a crossword puzzler, you know what I mean. It's not too easy (boring!), and not so hard that my husband throws down his pen in frustration and accuses the editor of lying, stupidity or worse. Each puzzle fits on a page, with an appropriate title. And, with the theme, of course, being movies, my husband, being a former actor, feels like he's in his milieu. The clues refer to actors, directors, titles - the whole marquee, and the movies referenced can be from any time between the 1930's to the current crop. My husband stays engaged, entertained and even-tempered, which is how the cat and I like it. So, if you're a newbie, grab your favorite movie resource book and keep it handy. If you're a pro, make some popcorn, settle back and delve into some clever movie and puzzle making.
