Fans will enjoy this enjoyable investigative urban romantic fantasy

How quickly her world changed without her consent while she was in Europe. Pia Thomason is now the magical Zorya of the Brotherhood whose reason for living is killing Dark Ones and married to her beloved Kristoff the grumpy Dark One though they reside on separate continents with her in Seattle and him in Europe; she knows her spouse distrusts her as she works for his enemy.--------

The Moravian Council accuses the couple of murder, embezzlement, and being behind the disappearance and probably homicide of Dark One Alec Darwin. Before she met Kristoff, Pia thought she loved Alec; which only angers her grump of a spouse. As they team up to search for the missing Alec and learn who framed them, Pia plans to enjoy her time with Kristoff while he cannot resist her lure.-----------------

As with the first Dark Ones saga (see ZEN AND THE ART OF DRAGONS), nothing goes right for the heroes as not only is the honeymoon over before it began, their lives may be over too. The story line is fast-paced, filled with humor and action as Katie MacAlister balances the two nicely. Fans will enjoy this enjoyable investigative urban romantic fantasy thanks to the antics of Pia.-----------------

Crouching Vampire, Hidden Fang Book 2 of 2

This book is really number 2 of Zen and the Art of Vampires (Dark Ones Series #6). These books are light hearted and entertaining. I don't want to give anything away, but if you are entertained by romance, humor, with a little supernatural, then you'll enjoy this book.

    Great book

Before you read this make sure you read 'Zen and the art of vampires' this book follows that one. Crouching Vampire was a great book that was hard to put down. Katie writes these books to keep you wanting to keep going from page to page. I dare you not to adore Pia the heroine of both Zen and Crouching and her Dark One!

Awesome sequal to Zen and The Art of Vampires

Usually when I read a sequal or the last book in a series it's sort of a let down compared to the prequal. Not with this book! Every page had me trying to stifle my laughter in the presence of others. Crouching Vampire, Hidden Fang was humorous and romantic with that action flare that I love. I really enjoyed reading it and I had no regrets or complaints about the ending, which is rare for me. Anyway, loved it, you should read it to. :)

Great follow up on the life of Kristoff and Pia.

nice light, humorous read with regard to this genre. Not as in your face as Anita Blake or Rachel Morgan books.

    Pretty good

loved the complexity between the characters. And is also a very funny book, was actually laughing out loud, a couple of times, which isn't something I usually do. A great book, well done K.M.

    Decrescendo

I entered the Dark Ones series with Sex, Lies, and Vampires, an offbeat, funky vampire romance (one that dealt as much in puns and semi-witty banter as in dark, brooding heroes). SL&V and a few of its compatriots were good reads, most notably A Girl's Guide to Vampires; but as the series progresses, the situations become more obtrusively improbable and the puns become more forced and the banter less witty. There's less sex here, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't used mostly as an excuse for overacted angst and bad jokes. Earlier Dark Ones novels struck a balance between the classic vampire themes and a tongue-in-cheek awareness of the sillier side of things; Crouching Vampire, Hidden Fang has fallen over the edge. MacAlister has a real talent for balancing the tragic with the ridiculous; here's hoping that her next novel centers itself in that tension and that nobody gets called a "sweet potato pie of love."

What's not to like about KATIE MacALISTER?

I don't think this woman has ever written a really bad book. Crouching Vampire Hidden Fang delivers with Katie's usual slap-stick humor which is very uplifting when one tires of reading the dark and dreary. Katie's heroines never take themselves too seriously, except for the guys...love that about her writing. After reading most everything she has written, I must say that the heroines are starting to sound a lot alike. I love the Aisling Gray series, but sad-to-say I believe Katie's heroines need to break away from becoming clones of Aisling...but please keep her. I'm not saying do away with the characters, just make the new ones with their own unique personalities. okay, so I know that's not easy. I especially love the demon-dog, Jim. He can say and get away with just about anything. Love it! Love the dragons and vamps too! But no matter what Katie writes, I will read it. She's that entertaining, not to mention talented. In summary, I highly recommend reading Crouching Vampire Hidden Fang. It will definitely lighten your spirits, whoever they may be...
