How does a doctor, who cannot swim, end up being a cruise ship doctor? And yes, there are shipboard romances.

After some unfortunate circumstances in my life, I took to the high seas, eagerly accepting a position as a cruise ship doctor that would take me to adventures far from my life in the New Mexico desert.

The Love Boat, an ABC-TV sitcom from 1977 to 1986, was televised using a ship very similar to the ship to which I had been assigned. My book tells of the professional medical aspects and the daily life aboard a ship, as well as ship board romances.

I describe some significant emergency problems. I also go into much detail about cruising, how to go about it and recommendations, especially for first time passengers, on how to plan and choose a cruise.

I make a short comment about a recent cruise ship disaster.

Cruising can be a very enjoyable and relaxing experience and not as expensive as one might expect.

Note: My book, Prison Doctor, will give the reader an entirely different picture of life in another world.
