Read an Excerpt

I want to make sure that you have a similarly delightful, varied, and stress-free cruise vacation, which is why I've written this book. I tried to anticipate every question you might have about the cruise experience, and I provide the answers. For first-time cruisers, I show you what to expect from the cruise experience, pre-cruise to post-cruise, with the nitty-gritty on everything from looking at your first cruise brochure to clearing Customs at the end of the trip. The goal is to make the experience easy and familiar, even if you've never cruised before. If you're not a first-timer, you probably bought this book because you don't want to waste a lot of time on trip planning. You want a quick and easy, yet comprehensive, source of information, and that's exactly what I aim to give you here.

Of course, you don't have to read the whole book. And you don't have to start at the beginning either. This is a reference book. Check out the table of contents or the index, and read the parts that answer your specific questions.

Besides just being practical, I've also written with the idea that the whole subject of cruising should be just plain fun, so don't expect any dry lectures -- that's not my style.
