Children's LiteratureHere is a big pop-up story book with a front cover showing a winsome yellow caterpillar using several of his front legs to grip a large green leaf. As he merrily eats his way through the trees the caterpillar encounters a bee, a bird, and even a butterfly, all of whom suddenly appear from the sky. He wishes he could fly too, but he can't, says the bird, because he has legs and they have wings. One day when he becomes tired, the caterpillar wraps himself under a leaf blanket and goes to sleep dreaming of being able to fly. The pop-ups are delightful and add to the story, especially the sleeping sequence as dreams of flying and leaf-like wings are swirling about. He still has his lovely caterpillar smile when he awakens to find himself a beautiful, big butterfly. 2006, Tiger Tales, Ages 2 to 5.
