Overview

As he begins to explore the afterlife, he meets up with a guide and his grandmother, who explains that he has choices now just as he did when he was alive. This includes the opportunity to help his younger sister, who is being molested by a family friend. There are consequences for him, but he realizes that saving Amy matters more than anything else. In Crush, 17-year-old Hope stays with her older sister in New York City while her parents spend the summer building a school in Thailand. She soon discovers that Joy dabbles in drugs and alcohol and has a live-in boyfriend. Hope meets up with Nat, who is a lesbian, and she is offered a position as a nanny by a lesbian couple with twins. To her surprise, she discovers that she is attracted to Nat in more than a platonic way, although whether this is just a "crush" or something more serious is not certain as the story ends. In both novels, the plot relies on everything neatly falling into place. The character development lacks subtlety although the teens do have some real issues that they are trying to solve with some reflection and honesty. Meet the Author

Carrie Mac is an award-winning author who has moved too many times to count. For now, she lives in Pemberton, a very small town nestled in the mountains north of Vancouver. Carrie Mac's first novel The Beckoners won the Arthur Ellis YA Award, is a CLA Honour book, and is being adapted for film.     OK

    This book was too short, but it totally expresses the fact that lesbians, gays, and bysexuals aren't bad people. I think that this autor is good at telling the story of Hope and Nat. I just wiah this book wasn't so shot other wise this book wouldn't be so... If you know what I mean.

    Too short

    Too quick

    It was a good story, kept me interested, but it ended far too suddenly. Had it ended when hope goes back to her home, it wouldnt have me so unsatisfied. If youre looking for a quick read, though, crush will suffice.

    59 pages!? Are you kidding me?

    I just dropped $8 for 59 pages...I havent read it yet but unless this 'book' changes my life its getting one star. LAME!

    Crush

    The main charecter is Hope. Hope's parents go to Tailand while she goes to New York to live with her sister over the summer. When she was there she struggled to find herself until she met Nat who ended up being the girl of her dreams.

    A overview on Crush

    Hope is a teenage girl who happens to be living a hippie style life. Her parents go to Tailand to build a school while she lives in New York with her sister who seems to not care about her. While in New York she discovers that she might like a girl named Nat. She soon finds herself and what she wants in life.

    Crush

    17 year old Hope has to move to New York with her 27 year old sister Joy.Her hippie parents leave for their 30th anniversary in Thailand to build a school.Hope works for a lesbian couple as a nanny.She discovers she has a crush on 19 year old Nat.I really enjoyed this book because it is exciting and fun. You hear the hardships of this girl and truly wish you can help.I couldnt put it down.
