Meet the Author

Elena lives and writes in a suburb North of Los Angeles. She has never lived anywhere besides California which is probably a good thing since she hates being cold and is terrified to drive in the snow. She loves being a wife and a mother to her two kids and three dogs, although really the bulldog is the fourth child who has never matured beyond the toddler stage.
A self proclaimed nerd, she has been writing since she was a child. She has only recently, however, come out of the closet about this to her family and friends. They now understand better, but not completely, why she talks about characters in stories as if they are real people.

I don't read  lot of murder mystery types, but this book intrigued me. I was not disappointed either! I started reading it and had it finished in less than 24 hours. I just had to know who was behind the kidnapping and killing of the teenage girls. I also had to know who Rory would choose to be her boyfriend. With three guys fighting for her affection and her ability to be completely oblivious to how strong their affections go, you will be on edge trying to see who she ends up with. I personally was cheering for her childhood friend Gage the whole time. The other two, Dominic and Holden, have been her friends for a long time in the absence of Gage. Unfortunately, Rory's family has had too high of hopes that Rory and Dominic would get together, something that definitely will turn a teenage girl off. Holden, only recently started showing Rory his interest and he goes about it all wrong. He only pursues her after he's been drinking and is less than suave about it. The underlying story though is about a mysterious person that kidnaps teenage girls. They eventually wash up on the beach many weeks and possibly months later. This serial killer seems to be stalking Rory. The possible reason is because his last victim, who is missing the entire story, looks a lot like Rory. No one has a clue who it is, except that six years ago, Rory was pretty sure she saw him getting ready to dump a body when she was playing hide and seek on a golf course. This nightmare has plagued her off and on, but now it has taken a scarier turn with the recent events. Will they find the killer? Will they find Lindsay, the missing girl, before it is too late? Who will win over Rory's heart? The author does a great job at leaving you guessing about all three outcomes until the very end. It was a great read. Read more reviews at Identity Discovery Blog.

I won this book in the author's giveaway & was asked in exchange for an honest review when I was done reading it It took me a little while to read the book but I finally finished it. It was a really good book. It had a love triangle. A high school teen went missing. & things keep happening to Aurora. It seemed to have more romance than anything else but it still had a little bit of mystery. When it came time to find out who the serial killer was I never saw it coming. (No worries, there will be no spoilers in this review). I guess in a way the person was odd but I never thought they would be the one taking teen girls & killing them. If you love romance it's a good read. If you love mystery it's still a good read but like I said it has more romance than anything. But I still think it's a must-read.

When Rory was a little girl she had a best friend named Gage. They got into all sorts of trouble when they were kids. One night Rory was preparing the best hiding spot ever when she saw a guy loading what looked to be a body into a vehicle. Of course, the excitement caused her to have an asthma attack and the guy soon found her hiding spot. However, it was because of her friend Gage that she was able to escape the clutches of the killer and run to safety. But a couple week later Gage moved away, never to be heard from until he returns for their senior year of high school. Now Rory’s life is flipped upside down. Not just because her childhood crush is back, but because the abductions have started up again. This was not the story that I thought it would be. You don’t really get the sense that it’s a YA thriller/romance from the cover. The synopsis doesn’t really help matters anyways. However, the fact that it was a YA didn’t really bother me. It just took me a few chapters to start picturing a young girl instead of a woman. The author did a great job balancing the romance with the suspense. Once the reader would start getting comfortable, something would happen, and you were thrown back into the fray. The author gives you tiny clues as to who it could be but she also leads you to dead-ends as well. For being teenagers the characters of this story were really mature. There really was no pettiness, no cliques, or crazy drama. That’s very rare in a young adult novel. So, I was happy that I could just focus on suspense and romance without all the stupid dramatics. My one and only gripe with the story was the convenience that any time Rory was in any sort of trouble, Gage was there to save her. Didn’t matter what/where/who, he was there every time. Either the boy was stalking her or he was just always at the right place at the right time when none of her friends seemed to be. I don’t know, I just felt like once there should’ve been a time where Rory either handled the issue herself or got saved by someone else. Regardless this was a great story. This is mature enough to be enjoyable by adults and yet it’s appropriate for teens as well. There is mention of drinking but there is no sex and virtually no swearing. There could’ve been absolutely no swearing. If you’re looking for a good no-drama, romantic suspense, then this is a good one.

*Received book in exchange for honest review* I highly enjoyed this book. Rory is a Southern girl that has her friend Dom interested in her when her childhood love Gage moves back across the street from her. In between deciding between two guys and battling her father to let her make her own choices and decisions as is she 18, one of her friends goes missing. The disappearance brings about memories for the whole town of a time a while ago when girls went missing and Rory gets out in lock down by her parents. I liked Rory from the beginning and how the book was written from her perspective and some of the thoughts she had made me laugh out loud, as I would have had the same thoughts in the same instances. I found myself on the edge of my seat at the end of the book and I cheered for who Rory chose at the end of the book as I had wanted that all along. All in all, I'd enjoy maybe a follow up book in the right circumstances, but it is also good as a stand alone. I'd recommend the book the people for sure that are interested in YA, mystery and romance

Elena Dillon has written another very exciting and fast-paced suspenseful YA romance!   I was so into this book that I lost sleep trying to finish it in one night!  This is a young author book, but I believe adults will enjoy this greatly too, as I certainly did.    There is romance, suspense, plenty of "whodoneit" to fulfill desire for excellent book!!    I was kept busy trying to figure out who the villain was but I failed miserably at figuring it out.   I received a free pdf copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This isn't my usual genre, but couldn't seem to drag myself away from the suspense. Even when I had to leave, I synced the story on my phone, and read while waiting or riding in the car. This one sucks you in big time, and with books, that's never bad. I lived in SC for five years, and I always connect with places I know. I loved the southern hospitality references, oh and the squirrel references were hilarious. Now I'll admit the sport of choice, I know nothing about it, but Rory loves to golf and SC has lovely courses, or so I've been told. Characters, Rory grows on you, but her struggles and decisions felt real. She's from a well to do family, so most of her turmoil is angsty, teenager stuff like freedom, friends, and of course those dumb boys she'll never understand. Ok onto the mystery. This is where the story takes a dark angle, but I'm saying that and that you'll never see the bad guy coming. Even if you think you have it pegged. Bravo and can't wait to read more in the future.

I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Rory’s life seems perfect. She has great friends, she’s best friends with her parents best friends’ son. Unfortunately, he’s crazy about her and although he’d make the perfect boyfriend, she’s unsure if she shares his feelings. Then out of the blue, her childhood crush moves back in across the street. He’s gotten older, taller and gorgeous! With his surprising return begins the rumors of his troubled past. Which are true and which are lies? Added to that, a teenage girl is missing, will she be next? I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I’d expected it to focus mainly on the romance aspect, but it was a perfect mix. I was completely engrossed from start to finish. I found it amusing that Rory had a knack for getting herself into trouble. The mystery was amazing, and had a few twists. When you find out who the serial kidnapper is, it’ll certainly shock you! This was an amazing hard to put down novel, one I’m sure many of you will enjoy!

I received this book for a fair and honest review. This book really had 2 story lines. One is of Rory and her two love interested Gage and Dominic. The other story line is of the a serial kidnapper/murderer. The latest victim is a friend and classmate. Rory really has a special talent of finding trouble. She tries to do the right thing but still trouble finds her again and again. The person behind the kidnapping was not someone I expected. I was on the edge of my seat reading how it was all going to play out when it was revealed who he was.
