Simply stated, you may or may not enjoy this book. If you believe the church of Christ is the restored first century church then you will strongly dislike this book. Its major mistake is a failure to recognize the exclusive nature God established for His Son's church. However, if you believe the Church of Christ is a denomonation with reformation roots, you may actually enjoy its message. As for me, it demonstrated weak research and an incomplete historical account of the church of Christ. Its historical account begins at 1500 as this best fits the theory. Use of earlier historical accounts would have weakened its premise and conclusions.
