Library Journal
Kwelik understands being caught between two worlds. On the Colonial frontier in 1743, she is the half-breed daughter of a Delaware Indian woman and an English missionary who preaches a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Jonathan Grant is also caught between two worlds: the English aristocracy he disdains and the frontier he calls home. When he first sees Kwelik, she stands proudly on the auction block, a prisoner being sold as a slave, and her inner peace cries out to him. Impulsively, he buys her and sets himself upon the road to redemption and a belief in Christ. Schalesky, a freelance writer and pastor in the Church of the Nazarene, makes a solid start to this bold new series with sympathetic characters and a fresh look at the early years of the American Colonies. Cry Freedom - Excellence in writing

Not generally an avid reader but, was not able to put the book down until completed in record time. It keeps your attention and makes you feel you are there during the whole story. I am ordering the next in the series. Thanks for a super story about our Native Americans.

    Excellent Read

'Cry Freedom' is a most interesting book, very well written; it drew me into the story where I was lost in that time period. It took my imagination back to an era where I feel the people were dedicated to living a life that was more in tune with the Bible. Excellent reading, difficult to put down. I finished the entire book in record time and have recommended it to many friends; I also plan to purchase many copies as gifts to friends and relatives. IT IS DEFINITELY A 'MUST READ'. I am looking forward to each book of the series - I totally enjoy stories written for that period of time - it couldn't be better. My appreciation to the Author for such excellent entertainment in reading material.
