Overview

The next book from the number one bestselling author of Cry Silent Tears.Joe was only five years old when he lost his voice. Only five years old when he was first beaten by his mother and raped by her boyfriend. And only nine years old when his mother sold him to a paedophile ring.At sixteen, Joe finally found the courage to escape and headed for Charing Cross station with no money in his pocket, no friends and nowhere to turn to. But the nightmare was far from over.Haunted by his harrowing past, Joe's life spiralled out of control. Living on the lonely streets of London, Joe turned down a dark path of crime and self-destruction and it seemed that he was bound for prison. Until the love of a good woman set him free…This is the ultimate story of triumph over evil, of survival and redemption. Heartbreaking, but unbelievably inspiring, it is a testament to the unbreakable resilience of a little boy who grew up into a remarkable man. Now that he has found his voice again, Joe speaks out against child abuse and helps support and protect other children whose lives have been blighted by it.

Now thirty four years old, Jamie Phillips survived a horrific childhood to bring up five children of his own, some of whom had special needs. He has set up a service on the internet to help children like himself to find assistance and is a spokesman on behalf of all abused children, particularly those who fall into the hands of the organised criminals who create internet pornography.

This book is an extraordinary example of: no matter what cards you're dealt in life, you have to play the hand you are given and make the most of it. Well done, Joe Peters. Despite all of the countless set-backs, and feelings of hopelessness at times (not to mention his haunting past and lack of a childhood), he manages to build a life for himself and find his place in this world. Amazing book, there is a lot of heartbreak, but there are also a few funny things thrown in. It is amazing to see how far someone can come back from such a horrific start to life. This is a must read!

This man has had a very rough life. I felt deeply for him throughout the entire book. With a tear in my eye.

Though he suffered extreme abuse as a child and struggled with mental illness throughout his late teen years/early 20's, I found this to be kind of a slow read. I grew tired of his constant run-in's with the law and felt like each chapter was "same song, differen't verse". Sorry for the tough review, but I just wasn't "feeling it". Happy that he triumphed and found love, though......

This was a well written story about a boy trying to find his way in the world after enduring years of unimaginable abuse and torture. Excellent read, a page turner I found hard to put down. This seems to be a second part to his story, Cry Silent Tears.

Just when I thought I cried all my tears in the first book the day before, I felt myself crying more in this book. There aren't enough "sorrys" in this world to undo all the wrongs that happened to joe. I hope you are still living life to the fulliest. God bless you, your wife, and your five wonderful kids.
