Rivalary for my 2nd place holder, my mind has this book tied the the last mythal trilogy. This series of books take a totally different approach to the main character. Not fully "good" but rough around the edges. Again, there is hints of continuation of the series to maybe a 4th book? I enjoyed that the main character was female. But, my only complaint is that you can tell a man wrote about the woman. Very masculine...then again, in the real world when you are far from civilization only the strong and clever survive and this book is based on an environment that resembles the Northern reaches of Siberia. Wolves are portrayed in this book in an interesting way...kinda like a neutral worg. The book series delves into the emotion of revenge and hate and loss. It can be a bit sad+dismal. As in the real world do not expect everyone to survive the series.
