    great bilingual book

I bought this for a friend's daughter who's being raised bilingual. At 2 years old, she's already enjoying the book and making the sounds of the animals. I think it will be even more enjoyable as she gets a little older and can appreciate the lesson.

    Cukoo Intrigues Elementary Art Students!!

My art classes (k-3) loved the story about this vain bird who has trouble getting along with others in the bird community. We talked about the beautiful metal coutouts reminescent of milagros as well at the festive paper cut-outs. We cut grey animal, bird and symetrical shapes from grey paper and mounted them on brilliant backgrounds. Working on our cutting and pasting skills and reinforcing our interest in another culture made a rich and interesting art project..a sure winner for multi cultural month or any time of the year!
