The photography is inspired, and, alone, makes this book worth buying. Even in the first pages, the words reveal a place and a people as if a curtain is being peeled back to let you in on the behind-the-scenes experiences of a native. You learn of their recipes, their people and places, and the full palette of their culture. When you begin to cook your first meal from this book, after having started to read it, it is as if you are cooking after having been to Spain and fallen in love with it. Also, resulting from my own experience of cooking "Mediterranean style" every day, with extra virgin olive oil, and Mediterranean oregano, and lemon squeezed on all meats, I am the ONLY one in my family that never got high cholesterol. My doctor said I avoided what was natural to all of my family, by having a Mediterranean diet all these years. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
