Steal away on a magical European tour

The photography is inspired, and, alone, makes this book worth buying. Even in the first pages, the words reveal a place and a people as if a curtain is being peeled back to let you in on the behind-the-scenes experiences of a native. You learn of their recipes, their people and places, and the full palette of their culture. When you begin to cook your first meal from this book, after having started to read it, it is as if you are cooking after having been to Spain and fallen in love with it. Also, resulting from my own experience of cooking "Mediterranean style" every day, with extra virgin olive oil, and Mediterranean oregano, and lemon squeezed on all meats, I am the ONLY one in my family that never got high cholesterol. My doctor said I avoided what was natural to all of my family, by having a Mediterranean diet all these years.

One of the best culinary books on Spain available.

Wow! After traveling the gastronomic roads of Spain for more than thirty years, I like almost anything on Spain, but it takes something really special to thrill me and Culinaria Spain does. It is the best book in English (or probably any other language) that I have seen on the wonderful food of Spain, a country where one eats better these days than anywhere else in Europe. Look at Culinaria Spain and you may believe what I have experienced on an average of five wine and food trips per year for the past decade. I don't know the people who did this book, but they did one Hell of a job - - and I can't imagine this beautifully illustrated book going for this ridiculously low price. I am a photographer, too and this thing makes me jealous. Grab a copy before they are all gone or B&N realizes just how great this book is and stops discounting it. I give copies of Culinaria Spain as gifts. - - Gerry Dawes
