    What a treat to have a cookbook full of culinary school recipes.

    What a treat to have a cookbook full of culinary school recipes. My secret dream is to go to culinary school. I know I never will but I cook a few of these recipes every week and dream I am there with the chefs and the students banging pots and pans. Its a nice dream and I enjoy it but the best part is I've learned new recipes that I love and my husband thinks are super. Here are my favorite recipes so far: chicken yakatori which was really easy (and the first time I ever made Chinese food) and super on the grill. Warm salad with bacon and poached egg which I made before the holiday and was great because it was so fast and so easy and made me feel like a 4 star chef! Zucchini thyme fritters which I made with chicken breasts and my eldest liked them so much I had to make a second batch the next day. Here’s what I am going to make next: the fava bean salad. I’ve never had fava beans but I’m feeling bold and brave and this looks super easy. Quiche with asparagus and pancetta which I am going to make for my book club next week because that will wow them. And this Sunday I am going to get eggs at the market and make hollandaise and if I master that, it really will be like going to culinary school.

    The recipes are great and the stories are super and I recommend this book to anyone who wants some good, clear, workhorse recipes they can use again and again for their family.

    I made my fist successful quiche thanks to this book and served it to my mother-in-law who said it was very good. Very good from my mother-in-law means it was the best thing she has ever had, very highest praise. Excellent recipes if it makes my mother-in-law smile!
