Overview

In this powerful, revelation-packed book, Danny Silk describes the significant paradigm shift in church life, government, and relationships that has created and sustained the revival culture at Bethel Church in Redding, California.

Through many relevant and true-life stories, the church is revealed as a place of freedom, respect, empowerment, and healthy discipline (not punishement). Culture of Honor Challenges the status quo of church leadership structure and presents a refreshing view of the five-fold ministry.

Jesus acknowledged this important principle in Matthew 20:25-26:"But Jesus called them to Himself and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant."'

If those with power learn how to empower those around them, then surely it will come to pass that, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."

You can apply-today-the truths revealed in this practical yet supernaturally charged set of principles to relationships in your family, workplace, community, ministry, church-wherever you deal with others.

This book caused me to take a hard look at the way I parent and repent to my son for leading out of fear. It has also helped me understand how to lead from a position of trust and honor instead of fear and control. A great read with concepts presented in an easy to understand format. If you read this book, and find yourself challenged by some the concepts in here; I suggest exploring why you feel that way instead of “writing off” what Danny Silk has to say. Culture of Honor takes a look at church leadership, but these concepts can help any leader in and out of the Church.

Everyone involved in ministry or going into ministry should read this book. It opened my eyes to how a healthy church should function.

This is a book for everyone who is serious about living the culture of Heaven. I highly recommend, as with all Bethel books (Bill Johnson & Kris Vallotton, too).

Danny Silk clarifies how God views each of us and how that does not change when we fail -- that His goal is to restore us back to the magnificent creatures we forget we are. He meticulously shows us what that is supposed to look like when we deal with each other especially when we fail. We are to be able to confront leadership and leadership's goal is restoration, not punishment. Our goal is not to try to control other people because we are all made to be free. Our goal is to help people experience the truth of who they are in Christ. This book helps me understand how to deal with my children, also. This book will be in my library permanently, but I will buy copies of it as presents for others.

This book has returned to our culture the true definition of honor. The level of honor described in this book is what many of us are missing from society. If we truly grasped the heartbeat of the author's message, the world would be a better place to live.
