Meet the Author

James Stuart Bell (Chicago, IL) served as editorial director at Moody Press for many years. His work with Adams Media includes A Cup of Comfort Devotional for Women and A Cup of Comfort for Christians. Before joining Moody Press, he was the director of religious publishing at Doubleday in New York.

Susan B. Townsend (Waverly, VA), author of A Bouquet for Mom, is a writer of nonfiction and fiction and a stay-at-home mother. She lives on a farm in southeastern Virginia with her husband, five children, and a menagerie of animals. Her work has appeared in A Cup of Comfort for Mothers and Daughters and a A Cup of Comfort for Teachers. She and her family attend services twice a week at Sussex Baptist Church.

    A nice collection of 365 short devotional stories written for women.

    I found out about this book by chance on a Nook blog as it was free today and I am VERY pleased! It is a nice devotional book with a short story for each day of the year (not made for any specific year so there was not a Feb. 29 story) I found them to be unique and relevant stories that I could relate to as a 30 yr old christian, wife, & mother. I gave 4 stars only because this is normally not free yet each story seemed to be about the same length as the free "Daily Bread" devotional series, and had much less recommended scriptures verses (only 1-2 verses per day). Still I like it alot and will be keeping an eye out @ bookstores for the original version as it would make a thoughtful yet practical gift for my female christian friends & family members. Would recommend for ages 16 +.

    Highly Recommend

    This is my daily devotion. There is a verse from the bible usually featuring oneof the Women of the Bible and a real life experience is related in a couple of paragraphs by someone. Usually ends with a thought to carry with you during the day. I often open my bible and read the referenced chapter or two.

    well written and easy to relate to devotional

    I really like the stories and fopund inspiration as well as motivation in this book. Would make a great gift to woemn friends that are stuggling in life.
