Overview

Now you can learn the art of reading tea leaves - or coffee grounds - with this beautifully designed facsimile of an Edwardian fortune telling cup and saucer. Reading tea leaves is a traditional divinatory method, and now The Cup of Destiny reveals the secrets of this ancient method, allowing you to make predictions for yourself and your friends

Each kit comes with an actual cup and saucer and 96 page illustrated book explaining how to interpret the patterns you will find in your cup, as well as, explaining the meanings of over 200 of the signs and symbols you are likely to see in the leaves when making a reading. The explanations accompanying these signs and symbols allow you to relate them to real events and future possibilities, providing clear insights which can be startlingly accurate: a heart near the rim of the cup means that love is not far away; a horse indicates the need for strength and patience; a cake may signify a celebration or a party.

So, have a cup of tea and see what the leaves have to say about your future!

This revised edition comes with a placement mat featuring a quick-reference reading guide.

This is a wonderful way to read  your own tea leaves , reading

This is a wonderful way to read  your own tea leaves , readings are   indeed    accurate, my mother is from Spain  and read the tea all  her  life  professionally , she read for herself without any problems  VS . the other review  that she cannot read by herself,  she did several readings  with the instruction provided in this set and guess what? the results came  very close  old style VS. practical new way with this cup,

I am learning the two ways  and honestly  is as accurate  as any old fashion, sorry for the Ladies that make a living with the Tea Readings, maybe next thing to do for the ones  feel  affected in their craft ts  to  learn  TAROT, that is  indeed difficult  and  nobody can  read it or learned  in a weekend!
So I honestly recommend this cup for any person that want to master the skill nothing wrong to learn in a new way,  my grandmother  read by herself  too  and she says is OK!

This is an excellent Product! I am a beginner to this work of art, I intend to use this for personal use and It is basically Intuition geared with a guide to translate that Intuition. You do not need to follow the guide just let your intuition tell you what you see and what that means to you!!! Everyone has Intuition it just needs to be developed. Also, do not get caught up by folks who are psychics for a living rather than those who are actually blessed to see beyond us and there to help us! Yes! this may be a commercialized version however, it is a tool that is as special as we make it to be. I am still guided by my spiritual psychic, this is just a plus!

I respect everyones opinion and perspective but, I simply loved it and bought a second one for my Spiritual guide! ; )
    She loved it!

    A fun gift

I found this cup charming. However, one can not take it to seriously. I have been reading tea leaves for years and it takes a great deal of patience and learning to do so. This is not a quick fix to instantly learn to read them. This was given as a cheeky little gift and whenever I am drinking tea during spiritual persuits this is my cup of choice.

Tea Reading when commercialised loses its flavor and its authenticity

Tea Reading can be learned and practised by people who are open, intuitive, able to deal in a responsible way with their own issues, and who are not easily taken in by commercialised editions and publications on how to read your OWN tea leaves. As a highly respected tea reader of many years experience, I am astounded that this ancient art has been turned into something else in this publication. You cannot read your own tea leaves unless you have years of deeper understanding of this practice. No-one in ancient Greece, Mesopotamia, eastern Europe, Arabic countries ever read their own tea leaves or coffee granules. It has always been an art of two energies meeting. The reader's energy interacts with the that of the person who has drank the tea or coffee. This is what produces correct readings. If you read your own cup, a number of negative elements can interfere with the reading. Firstly it is like your energy giving feedback. What happens when a speaker is too near a microphone. There is a terrible interference called feedback. If you don't want negative energy interfering in your life, then NEVER attempt to read your own tea leaves. You may see impending disaster or doom in your cup that has little to do with you and everything to do with doom from somewhere else in the universe. You may see doom and think it belongs to you and increase your own anxieties about your life situation. So if you have been taken in by the idea that you can read your own cup accurately, I hope that all you have lost is of monetary and not emotional value. I teach Tasseography and I impress upon my students that it is their energies interacting in a very positive way with the energies of the person who's cup they are reading. In 35 years of reading, I have only ever read my own leaves twice. Once when I was new at it and very inexperienced, (this reading and its consequences stopped me reading my own for years) and once just lately, when I was able to glean positively from it because of my understanding of its eneregies. Another fact is this question. How does a tea reader with a website make money. It is very hard to read other peoples cups over the website. So to tell people they can read their own tea leaves is a way of not having to deal with this issue. Also to teach people what symbols mean, is irrelevant in Tasseography. I can see a fly in one person's cup and it means something completely different in another persons cup. This is because I read intuitively the other person's symbols as they appear on that day, in that special moment. I hope at least you liked the cup you received with this publication, but I really give the publication no star value myself. Beautiful Cup!

This is just a beautiful gift! Even if you are not necessarily into tea readings, this cup is a beautiful work of art. The clean lines remind me of architectural drawings. The geometry of the work and the history of tea reading is interesting and a beautiful gift!
