Editorial Reviews

Alle's 5 Star Reviews - Alle Wells
It’s a tough job, finding true love for everyone, especially when it seems that some people don’t deserve it. But Cupid perseveres and wins most of the time, in spite of humans. This story, told from Cupid’s point of view, is a meaningful and delightful tale that readers will certainly remember for years to come.
The Caffeinated Book Reviewer - Kimberly Kimba
Crosby has this incredible gift for bringing you memorable characters and weaving tales that touch you. The pacing is delightful and the characters complex. The tale is shared through multiple POV’s adding depth and a personal touch. I found myself giggling aloud and highlighting quotes with tears in my eyes at the end.
Goodreads - James Gracely
Ms. Crosby has such a beautiful way of taking the lives of normal people and turning them into fascinating adventurers. Part of the joy of reading her books is recognizing yourself in the characters.
I find myself highlighting more passages in her books than in nearly anything else I read.
Jersey Girl Book Reviews - K. Anderson
Narrated by Cupid along with alternating points of view by Lindsay, John and Eleanor, author Bette Lee Crosby weaves a warm and fuzzy tale of love, romance, family drama, life circumstances and puppy love. You can't help but be captivated by Cupid's story as he works his magic with a few miracles added in to unite two couples.
Musings from Down Under - Sally From Oz
This is the first book I have read by Bette Lee Crosby and I can assure you it won’t be the last. I was expecting the usual sweet and fluffy Christmas story, the no brainer with a happy ever after ending. What I got was a wonderful story that sucked me in from page one and did not let me go until the last page.

Meet the Author

Award-winning novelist Bette Lee Crosby brings the wit and wisdom of her Southern Mama to works of fiction-the result is a delightful blend of humor, mystery and romance along with a cast of quirky charters who will steal your heart away.

Born in Detroit and raised in a plethora of states scattered across the South and Northeast, Crosby originally studied art and began her career as a packaging designer. When asked to write a few lines of copy for the back of a pantyhose package, she discovered a love for words that was irrepressible. After years of writing for business, she turned to works of fiction and never looked back. "Storytelling is in my blood," Crosby laughingly admits, "My mom was not a writer, but she was a captivating storyteller, so I find myself using bits and pieces of her voice in most everything I write."

Crosby's work was first recognized in 2006 when she received The National League of American Pen Women Award for a then unpublished manuscript. Since that, she has gone on to win several more awards, including another NLAPW award, three Royal Palm Literary Awards, the FPA President's Book Award Gold Medal and most recently the 2011 Reviewer's Choice Award and Reader's View Southeast Fiction Literary Award.

Her published works to date are: Cracks in the Sidewalk (2009), Spare Change (2011), The Twelfth Child (2012), and Life in the Land of IS (2012). Life in the Land of IS is a memoir written for Lani Deauville, a woman the Guinness Book of Records lists as the world's longest living quadriplegic.

Crosby newest novel What Matters Most will be released in early 2013.

I am so glad I got the chance to read this sweet, clean romance

I am so glad I got the chance to read this sweet, clean romance that is perfect for Christmas but honestly perfect for any time of the year. I loved everything about the book. The story was sweet, and it even had a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. The romance was wonderful and not sappy. I loved the fact that Cupid told much of the story, and he is an angel. I liked the references to God, and I enjoyed the humor. And who couldn't love the dog? That is an integral part of the story, and you must read it to understand.

When I say the book is clean, I actually mean it. There might be one or two words that could be classified as mild profanity, but I was honestly not offended. There were no sex scenes--go figure! While the book is not Christian, you will find moral principles and Christian references. I also love the writing style she chooses--telling the story from several different perspectives. She does this expertly--some authors are not at good in this area. The only thing that would make the book better is a sequel. If you are looking for a feel-good, easy-to-read, light romance, this will definitely fit the bill!

I was sent a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Ms. Crosby has hit a home run with this darling story! Great for Christmas--or any other time. It is a story of hope, second chances, redemption and love. I've not ever read a story before like this, a story not in first person or third person, but with a narrator (Cupid) telling the story. And I loved it! Ms. Crosby has a clean, clear and concise way with words that tells the reader exactly what's going on...no guess work. At times I was empathetic with Lindsay and her insecurities, but at other times I was so fed up with her not seeing what was right before her eyes. This author cleverly wove Lindsay's story with bits of hilarious magic, the up-and-down emotions of her widowed father, a widow lady and her angry son, and a dog search that tied it all up together into a wonderful happy-ever-after for all. What a glorious, satisfying story. I would recommend this to anyone of any age who wants to read a very good story.

This book not only comes with an adorable cover and a worthy cause for saving dogs from part of it's proceeds, it's also a fanciful love story for the Christmas season and throughout the year.

Cupid's job is to unite the right people for a lifetime of love, but sometimes humans go and jump into lust with the wrong people and problems ensue.  Problems also arise when people find another partner in marriage that was not in "the plan".  One such couple is Eleanor and John, who found and lost each other as young people.  They married other people, each had a child, and now in their fifties they find themselves widow and widower.   Cupid has matched them again, but their grown children are causing many problems for this new pair.  Cupid must go to work again to make everybody live 'happily ever after', which is Cupid's job designation from the BIG BOSS.

This book has lots of humor, emotion, and hidden great advise about 'real love'.  It's a joy to read.  Hint---there is a sweet little dog that wins over hearts, with some help from Cupid.  If you're looking for a great fun read, this book is definitely for you!

This was such a cute little light read! I was able to easily navigate through the story, and kept entertained while doing so. Bette Lee Crosby does such a wonderful job telling a story and keeping a reader interested in the story and characters before them. Just as with every other Crosby book, she provided a wonderful, intriguing story that truly touches and melts ones heart!

I haven't read a book yet that Bette didn't have wonderful, lovable characters to fill her great stories with! Each character is so unique and essential to the story and just makes you feel like you want to get to know them all, even the ones who begin nasty and hateful, you can eventually find yourself growing to love!
