Meet the Author

The Reys were born in Hamburg, Germany. Hans Augusto Rey (1898-1977) met his wife-to-be, Margret (1906-1996), at a party in her father's home in Germany; when he first caught a glimpse of her, she was sliding down the banister. In their twenties and thirties they lived in Paris and in Rio de Janeiro, where Hans sold bathtubs in villages along the Amazon River. Eventually Cambridge, Massachusetts, became the Reys' home and community. Throughout their lives the Reys created many lively books together, including SPOTTY, PRETZEL, and lift-the-flap books such as HOW DO YOU GET THERE? The manuscript of the first Curious George books was one of the few items the Reys carried with them on their bicycles when they escaped from Paris in 1940. Eventually, they made their way to the United States, and CURIOUS GEORGE was published in 1941. Their incorrigible little monkey has become an American icon, selling millions of books and capturing the hearts of readers everywhere. CURIOUS GEORGE has been published in many languages, including French, German, Japanese, Afrikaans, and Norwegian. Additional Curious George books followed, as well as such other favorites as CECILY G. AND THE NINE MONKEYS and FIND THE CONSTELLATIONS.

    Terrible formatting on Nook

    Unreadable on the Nook.

The adaptation for the nook is a mix of copy and scanned images. The pictures are often poorly formatted and the interlaced text was hastily done. This book flows so poorly that it is hard to read. A total waste of $3.

Good to see Curious George on the Nook

The old H.A. and Margret Rey Curious George books are the best. Great to see some offered on the Nook. We need more Children's classics converted to Nook form.

Great Book for 2 - 5 year olds!

This is a great book for little boys to learn a little bit about dinosaurs. My children love Curious George and this book certainly keeps their interest.

This is 24 pages long. My four year old loves it. Would be better if it read to him, it is only a read myself.

    Ridiculous

Purchased this via nook kids app...only to, once again, have trouble with the nook app...it put it into my regular adult nook and will not open, saying it is not supported on nook. What?! I have constantly been having so much annoyance with the nook apps as it is, again I am left disappointed and now will have to deal with customer service from the other side of the world who just read prepared statements rather than actually try and figure out the problem. I better get a refund!!

not recommended...4 pages only so you're basically paying $1 / page ... totally not worth it. I would have rather borrowed it from the library for 1 hour.

Won't download to PC and no warning given

I bought this for my grandchildren and the purchase and download went through find. It was only until I tried to open it that I discovered that it was not set up for PCs yet. I am trying to get a refund. Very disappointed!!!!

    Another Great Curious George

My 4 yr old daughter really likes Curious George and dinosaurs, so this was a match made in heaven. The story is long enough to engage her, but not so long as to loose her attention. The Curious George books are always a fun read!
