Don't wait until practicing to read this book!

I am a 2L. I wish I had read this book before starting my summer clerkship last summer. The advice is simple, practical, and absolutely invaluable. Herrmann writing style is entertaining and straight to the point. I cannot recommend this book more. Whether you're just starting out, or have been practicing for a while, anybody who practices law (or plans to) needs to read this book. Read it. And live it.

A MUST READ FOR EVERY YOUNG LAWYER

I am a senior associate at a large law firm, and I wish that someone had sat me down at the start of my career to give me the terrific advice in the Curmudgeon's Guide. Practicing law, particularly in a law firm, can be a labyrinthine experience -- it's a journey best traveled with a wise guide to help you along the way. The Curmudgeon manages to pack all of the most important lessons into this short, funny, easy-to-read book. I now keep two books on my desk where they are easy to reach: the bluebook (uniform system of citation) and the Curmudgeon's Guide. I can't say which one I check more often.
