From The CriticsReviewer: Dennis Mess, MD (University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine)
Description: This book follows the format of the classic Lange series in presenting up-to-date orthopedic knowledge.
Purpose: It is meant to be a concise, ready-to-use source of up-to-date orthopedic knowledge.
Audience: The main audience is medical students doing an orthopedic clerkship. It is also designed for review by primary physicians.
Features: It is organized anatomically. A brief introduction to physiology, biomaterials, and biomechanics is given. Each disease is broken down into pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, imaging, and treatment.
Assessment: This is probably the finest of the introductory student texts available. It is certainly recommended for all medical bookstores and libraries. It will probably become a classic, like many others in the Lange series.
