Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Sally Ling, M.D.;FACP(University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine)
Description: This updated pocket-sized companion to Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment contains one disease per page, and is organized by specialty or subspecialty to be a readily available quick reference.
Purpose: By using the single page, bulleted format, the book allows the reader rapid access to useful information on most of the common diseases encountered in practice. A single "pearl" as well as a single useful reference, is presented on each disease. It is worthwhile to have a book that can give essential information without being overwhelming in length.
Audience: The book is particularly useful for medical students, residents, and physicians preparing for board recertification.
Features: The most inviting, even fun aspects of the book are the clinical pearls that often stimulate the reader to recall other important facts of the disease.
Assessment: This third edition has expanded the diseases discussed, updated diagnostic and therapeutic considerations, and added current references for each disease. It provides concise, portable summary information that will be useful in clinical practice.
