Description: This is a set of flashcards based on Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2014, 53rd edition, Papadakis et al. (McGraw-Hill, 2014).
Purpose: The flashcards are a study aid for the 80 most common topics in internal medicine.
Audience: As a study aid these are focused on the various student populations — medical, nursing, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner.
Features: Each topic has a case presentation and relevant questions. The cards then lead the student through an approach to the problem with the answers to the questions printed on the other side.
Assessment: There are many ways to learn the critical thinking skills needed when studying medical topics. This is one approach that may appeal to those who find the traditional approach difficult.
