Overview

The night Claire Tanith's small village is attacked, her mother sends her alone into the cursed forest, the one she'd been forbidden to enter all her life with these mysterious words: 'They will protect you.'

On the run from her attackers, she soon finds the forest is not as abandoned as she'd once thought.

Beautiful and elegant, the elves seem to be everything the legends said they would be. But legends sometimes forget the true history of things and Claire's eyes are soon opened to a world she never knew. One that has been kept from her for most of her life. All Claire wants to do is return home and start looking for her mother, the only family she ever had. But the elves have different plans. The mysterious mark that appeared on her arm isn't a curse, at least not to them anyway, and before she knows it, she is whisked away on a mission she never agreed to, unless they help her in return.

Now she is stuck on an adventure with the perverted elf, Aeron, and one with an attitude, Farron. But there is more to this adventure than she'd ever hoped for.

    Enjoyable

The book is right around 300 pages.
There are not any sex scenes, but does have kissing scenes. There is some violence throughout the book.
The book would be appropriate for young teens & older.

That being said, this is an enjoyable read with charactors the you'll like. Claire is young and learning to grow up while Farron has a past he's doing his best to keep hidden. Through circumstances left better to be read in the book, they meet up and begin a journey together to find out the meaing of the mysterious marking that has suddenly appeared on Claire's wrist. But, maybe, Farron already knows.

    Cursed

I LOVED this book! Claire is such a captivating main character. Aspects of this book reminded me of a book by Penelope King, called A Demon Made Me Do It. Stockton and the Dove Town or whatever it was are similar. They're just your regular, run-of-the-mill towns. Then out of the blue, POOF! Magic, evil creatures galore! The elves in this book are scintillating as well, with their emotion-void expressions. Then there are the two Besties, Aeron and Farron. Like I said, the characters stole my heart.

    Good read for free

Wasn't bad, loved Farron. I get that claire has been sheltered and being thrown into her situation would make anyone seem immature. I couldn't connect with her, her love interest Bern(?)or how they felt for each other. I really hope she ends up with farron.
