Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 4-8-- A tame collection of sports trivia. While some of the facts presented are interesting and fun, the cluttered layout and random organization prevent the book from being of much use, except for browsers. But the real problem here is the cartoon illustrations. Most of the athletes are portrayed as square-jawed and blunt-nosed, giving them all a similar appearance. Even worse is the use of stereotypes throughout. Athletes from India are shown in turbans and curly-toed shoes, while Eskimos have slits for eyes and Moe Howard haircuts. Strike three!-- George Delalis, Oakland Public Library
