Overview

No one’s perfect.

At least that’s what Lucy Mathews tells herself. Except faced with her boyfriend’s rodeo queen ex-wife and perfectly trained Australian shepherd, she has to wonder if maybe this whole ‘no one’s perfect’ thing was made up by someone like...Lucy.

Lucky for Lucy though, things are hopping around Helena. It’s rodeo season, and she has a booth. It’s a great opportunity to expand her clientele and maybe even snag a cash prize for Kiska as the world’s first sheep herding malamute.
Except Kiska can’t herd, Lucy loses her wallet, and oh yeah...there’s that dead rodeo queen Lucy just stumbled over.

Good thing her boyfriend’s a detective. Except that’s not going so well either. A new detective is in town, and he’s convinced Lucy’s involved in the rodeo queen’s murder. Her boyfriend is no help at all and worse he’s spending a little too much time with his ex-wife.

Lucy finds herself out of money, out of love, and maybe this time, out of luck.

Don't miss book 1 in the series, Loose Screw, for only 99 cents!

The second book in this series was much much better than the first. The author seems to have found her "writing self" and the story flows much better. Those new to the series, I'd start with the first book. Please know it gets better the further you read. Like I said the second is much better. The predicaments Lucy and her dog get into are hilarious. Have fun!

I enjoyed this book as much as I did the the first one. It is a great series, so far. I hope there are many more books, as I fear I am now addicted to the characters and their predictiments. A little over 450 pages, each page almost seemed like a gift. I bought another book by this author, more of a romance then these two are, while it was a very good also, I prefer a mystery. This book would be a good read for ages 13 and up. I highly recommend these books. AD

I am not by any means very critical of books that are produced as an easy read that are simply entertaining. This book however was so irritating to me, that I could not even finish it. The main character is simply put, stupid. I think the writing is intended to be funny, but I did not find it so. I would suggest you read the sample book first if you are considering purchasing this book....I wish I had done this instead of wasting my money.

I thoroughly enjoyed the second book of the series.

I really like this authors writing style . It was easy to read, I didn't loose interest, things happened unexpectedly out of no where, and most importantly there was no filler information added to make it longer . I will definitely be buying the remaining books as well as others outside this series .

I like the series, but it was kind of peridictable and very very very boring to me and at times i felt like just skipping to the end. Lucy is an antiques store owner/news reporter, and she is now dating a detective! Lucy at 29 years old needs a little common sense at times. Life for her is pretty good, except..... oh ya! That rodeo queen body she just tripped over! Read her love life and crime life. I do nort recommend this book for people who like exciting books! - elesajammer224 ( i will soon be changing my name to puppyrocks27 do to minor reasons )

Cute story

Another good Dusty Deals book. I thought at times Lucy was being a bit more silly than funny. I would like to see her behaving a bit more adult.

Talented author who weaves fun stories. And also proofreads well!

I found the main character too stupid and irritating to enjoy the attempts at humor. The mystery was so simple and obvious, it was pathetic. Don't waste your time or money on this one. JB

Even though I rolled my eyes a few times at Lucy's bone headed antics. Especially enjoyed Phyllis, Rhona's boyfriend's mother - she was a truthful hoot. Hope she keeps working at the shop.
