Overview

Cut & Run Series: Book One

A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case.

Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work after his case blows up in his face. He's cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does. But when he's paired with Special Agent Zane Garrett, it's hate at first sight. Garrett is the perfect image of an agent: serious, sober, and focused, which makes their partnership a classic cliché: total opposites, good cop-bad cop, the odd couple. They both know immediately that their partnership will pose more of an obstacle than the lack of evidence left by the murderer.

Practically before their special assignment starts, the murderer strikes again – this time at them. Now on the run, trying to track down a man who has focused on killing his pursuers, Grady and Garrett will have to figure out how to work together before they become two more notches in the murderer's knife.

Ty and Zane are so great together. Just starting book 2 and I love how it starts right up where Cut and Run left off. What an amazing novel that actually has a story line to go along with the amazing sex scenes.

It managed to balance out the romance plot and the crime plot wonderfully and my interest didn't dwindle as I read it. The ending totally threw me and I loved the characters as well. I'm already on the third book now!

The two main characters of Madeline Urban & Abigail Roux's series are well worth getting to know. Even though the plot of this one is not as strong as subsequent books, once you really get to know Ty and Zane, the plot becomes irrelevant because you just want to know more about the two main characters. The entire series is a winner. But to understand the series and their relationship, you have to start with the first book. Read it, you won't regret getting to know Ty and Zane at all.

Special agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have quickly become two of my favorute characters. Their sarcastic and teasing banter, mixed in with a violent passion thrown in with disconcertingly tender moments make for a very dynamic relationship. What is great about this series is that the romance isnt a sideline to the crime drama and vice a versa. The drama pushes the story to a faster read but the romance forces you to slow down and enjoy. Highly recommend this series. Ive read them all once. On my second go around now and am in more in love with these two. I just hope that there are many more to come in this series. And Ms. Abigail Roux didan excellent job on the last of theseries on her own

It was good, I liked the MC's,the way they played off each other was great. The sex scenes, while few, we're hot. The story line had potential, but unfortunately I knew who the murderer was from the get go. At one point I thought there'd be a twist buuut nope. That made the story too long for me. Still good, and since I know authors grow with more experience, I'll be buying the next book.

This is the beginning of the Cut & Run Series. This book is the story of how Tyler Grady & Zane Garrett become partners at the FBI. Kind of like the odd couple, they are opposites who really do not get along at first. Ty is a former Recon Marine, who tends to be messy, outspoken and incredibly honest. He has lost a partner recently, and does not care to have another one. Most agents are afraid of him and his past.  Zane is a former man that was a lot like Ty, but since his wife died he has cleaned himself up. He is good with numbers, climbing the ranks at the FBI, and tries his best in all he does.  Becoming real partners takes time. Trust is hard to build - even more so when the partners in question are not inclined to trust to begin with. Chasing a serial killer brings out the best and the worst in them. The characters in this book are complex, honest, forthright, amazing and capable. Reading about how they solve this case is really interesting and I could NOT put this book down! When they start to look to one another for more than partnership, and real feelings are at stake it is hard to choose who to root for. Really good story from an amazing series!

*NO spoilers* Let me start by saying that I like these authors. "Caught Running" is a favorite book in the genre, and I opened "Cut & Run" with excited anticipation. The series has such high marks that I still find myself nonplussed. As is always the case with authors Roux and Urban, the plot is good, and the characters are rich. The novel opens with one of my favorite tropes in the genre: opposites-attract. As the story continues there is a dual character twist, found in role reversals, that is both clever and sexy. My issue with the story developed, as the romance grew between the main characters. I found myself being distracted by their interaction and dialogue. As former military, I'm a stickler for believable dialogue and authentic interaction among men. In the male culture of law enforcement, men do not constantly process their feelings- even the gay ones. One of the nice things about being a man in a relationship with another man is that you DON'T have to discuss your feelings all the time. (I have gone full Sundays in companionable silence with my partner, where the only words spoken are "What do you want for dinner?") Honestly, the novel made me feel like I was on a shopping marathon with a girlfriend. It was exhausting. I just couldn't take it anymore. It's very rare when I don't finish a novel (which I usually rate one star). I gave "Cut & Run" two stars because, although I didn't like the novel, it is well-written. Ultimately, "Cut & Run" is light on story and heavy on verbal processing. If that's your thing, then this novel is for you. Note: I am not a believer of the stereotype that only men can write good MM Romance. For me, this one just missed the mark.

I first read this book in 2010. I loved it but I never got around to continuing the series. On a whim (and to use one of my free credits from Audible), I decided to pick up the series again. I think I enjoyed the book more than I did the first time I read it. I'm not sure why. This series strength is its protagonists, as oppose to its plot, though I did enjoy this book's plot/mystery. Ty and Zane are complicated characters and I love watching their journey in this book from reluctant work partners to something more...

This book caught my attention from the first page all the way through to the end! Quite surprising to me as I've only read 5 books over the last 30 years due to the amount of reading of transcripts I've done for work. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes mystery books.

It is so hard to find a good m/m romance book that has a good plot with the steamy scenes all in one. I was enthralled with this book and couldn't put it down. Ty and Zane are great characters and are defunitely worth getting to know.

We becoming addicted to Ty and Zane! The mystery part was just ok to me though, I would have wanted less of it and more romance.

Ty and Zane's story is filled with action, heroism, suspense, and incredible, hot romance! I've read the first four books in the Cut and Run series and can't decide which one I love the best! Read them in order. You won't be disappointed!

I love this series. This was my first m/m book and I loved it. Ty and Zane are great together and as individuals. Highly recommend.

This is not a sub-genre that I would normally pick up. I'm so glad some of my online friends (hello, Minions) encouraged me to read it. If you like m/m romance, you'll love it. If you aren't sure if you like m/m romance, try this one, you'll love it. If you don't like m/m romance, don't read it. It's not for you.
