Informative on very wide range of topics

Being an encyclopedia, this book covers a wide range of topics (with less depth as always in any encyclopedia).

I am a mechanical design engineer and I was looking for 2 things.

One: a book that covered ALL designs that ever came out on bicycles. This book does mention a lot but I am not sure if this is a complete list.

Two: I was looking for more in-depth analysis of at least some basic mechanical design aspects. The author mentions about many design aspects. Covers (little too much IMO) about the famous riders (humans, rather than the bike itself).

The book IS definitely useful as a start-off for me and the authors sheer volume of work is appreciated.
