Truth
I know who I am. I'm Cyrus Steel, son, brother, uncle, friend to people I choose to bring into my life.
Truth
I could fuck up anyone I want.
Truth
I know the devastation I can and have caused.
Truth
I can't change the past, but I have chosen how to live now.
Truth
I like to fuck, and I will do a chick better than she's ever been done. Hard and wild. No more than three hook ups. No expectations, no one gets hurt. As long as she agrees ...it's on.
One of my favorite tattoo's bridges the V, and it says Truth.
A constant reminder of who I was and who I am now.

~Tara~
I wasn't sure I knew how or even if I should tell him there was no one who loved me. Tony was the last person to say those words to me and he hadn't meant it. He just wanted to use me.
That's what this beautiful man underneath me, showed me today. He hadn't used me, he didn't even know me. But he thought I was beautiful, and he was nice to me. Tony was wrong about him, and even though I never want to see him again, I wish I could tell him just how wrong he was.

Can truth be altered? Can truth be seen when walls are built for protection, for self preservation? Will self doubt and years of pain cloud two hearts from finding their truth?

y rating: 4 of 5 ¿¿ When Cyrus Steel spots the demure little dancer from the club the other night, he has no idea that acting on his protective instincts would bring about such a momentous change in his life. He liked to play things easy, no commitments, never more than three nights with the same woman and no feelings involved, ever. So why he felt compelled to stick his nose in the little bird's business he had no clue, but his mother had taught him and his brothers well and he wouldn't stand by and watch a woman be mistreated.  Having a history of being shuffled around, the only person who ever offered Tara more than a passing interest was Tony. His declarations of love were like balm to her dried up soul, and she knew no better than to take everything that came with it. That is, until Cyrus showed up and offered her something she had never known before. Protection, kindness and friendship.....all without any expectations. Something so alien to her, it took her some time to learn to trust it.  Cyrus and Tara struggle to maintain a relationship based solely on friendship, and with the attraction between them so strong it is inevitable that lines are crossed. But will they stick to the three strikes, you're out rule?? **** Oh my!!  I have to admit, when I first started reading, despite the fact that I had just finished the previous book, I was confused and not sure at all if I was going to like this story at all!! Cyrus seemed to me to be a manwhore of the highest order and the banter between him and his brothers asinine and completely immature.  However, as the story progressed and I got a bit of a glimpse at his counterpart, Birdie....or rather Tara, the context of the story started becoming a bit more intriguing. Not in the least because of the dire contrast between the two protagonists.  Cyrus, the consummate ladies' man, who had a steadfast three strikes-you're out rule and appeared to be a hard-assed user, while at the same time emotionally unchallenged and relatively pure. On the opposite end we have Tara, whose survival needs forced her into a situation beyond her control or full scope of understanding and belies her true innocence, but who deals with an emotional minefield of traumatic experiences that have made her a compliant victim. The story becomes quite heart-breaking when it is discovered how truly damaged Tara really is and the lengths at which Cyrus tries to accommodate her, in helpin to beat down her demons. He himself, in all his world-wise swagger, becomes quite helpless against all of Tara's open-eyed innocence and despite all his vast will-power succumbs to her draw. The style of writing is crass and often bordering on over the top, however, in this case it seems to only underscore the contrast between the crude and brute reality of Cyrus, versus the timid, and diminutive presence of "Birdie". Unlikely as it may seem, the sexual chemistry between the two of them is unbelievably hot and overall the story rates high erotically. This book definitely delivers more depth than first glance may indicate......worth the read, for sure!!! ¿Cocky & carnal meets innocent & fragile.¿ **ARC provided in return for an honest review.**

3.5 stars actually Based on the Jersey Shore, Cyrus is the first of the Men of Steel books that I have read, and it won’t be the last.  Written with alternating viewpoints in a stream of consciousness style that mixes interior dialogue with conversation and action, the voices are distinct, raw and often crudely depicted in a manner that feels very honest.   Cyrus is back in the states after Hurricane Sandy and a few tours overseas with the military.  His brother has just married a “pretty cool” girl, and he is a bit at loose ends.  Alternating as he runs from connections to take solace in them, and repeatedly engaging Tara in his verbal games for dominance, there’s a lost little boy acting all grown up as he moves through life.   There is a playful arrogance about Cyrus, protective and actually rather chivalrous despite his refusal to allow either trait to become part of his self-definition, the contrast between he and his brothers is strong, but for their commitment to family.   He has a desire to live the life his father told him was coming: finding that woman that is everything and all to you, and perhaps he has found that in Tara, although the two have mountains of issues to work through.  Tara, for her part, is working through her own issues as a survivor of the foster care system: her predilection to lean on those who are ‘bad boys’ for real, rather than using the bad boy demeanor as a shell is troubling, and part of what Cyrus wants to save her from.   There was a great story hidden here among more than a few large missing pieces in the sequence of the plot, character confusion and the rougher patches of description that don’t quite fit the characters as they are defined.  Then there is language: while the patter of his dialogue is peppered with F Bombs, the repeated use of a few expletives becomes wearing and tiring to the reader, they aren’t very creatively used, and the impact of word lessens with every use.  This is most certainly not an appropriate book for anyone under 18, and my personal note would extend to those who are easily offended by language give this book a pass it is not something you will learn to ignore because of the frequency.   All in all, this wasn’t a bad story, it had lots of unique elements and perspectives with voices that were particularly distinct and well developed, I just wished that the flow were more logical.  I received an eBook copy from Corvisiero Literary Agents for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions were my own responsibility.

Great Book....enjoyed this one more than the first in this series. I loved Cyrus' personality transformation. Although, I did think that the reasons for his forced emotional distance from anyone except family was kind of weak, I still enjoyed this and will purchase the next one in this series which is one sale right now for .99!

I am absolutely diggin this series. I f*****g love these men.   Cyrus, oh Cyrus…. I loved him, then I hated him, then I loved him some more. He will frustrate the hell out of you and then have you droppin your panties with the quickness. He has a rule. The 3 times rule. You don’t hit it no more than 3 times. That’s it. Done. No coming back for fourths. But what happens when you want more? Cyrus fights it. Boy does he fight it. He struggles with his feelings for Tara. He feels protective of her and wants to take care of her. But he doesn’t want to let her in. Tara struggles with some of her emotions too. She’s had it rough and finds herself in an unhealthy relationship. Cyrus steps up for her and wants to keep her safe.  I loved this story. I devoured this story in one sitting and read ‘til the very end because it had me totally consumed. The emotions Cyrus and Tara went through were sad, heartbreaking, sweet and absolutely sexy as hell. Well, that’s no surprise from a Steel man.  I love how protective Cyrus was over Tara. And even though he was extremely frustrating, Tara was a fighter. And I loved that Cyrus was able to help her more with her confidence. He made her feel sexier and confident.  MJ Fields does it again with this amazing sexy and steamy story with the perfect amount of drama, emotion, frustration and amazing sex to keep you hooked from the start.

Another awesome Men of Steel novel! This series has already hooked me and I’m dreading the day I run out of Steel brothers to read about. This is Cyrus and Tara’s story. We first met Tara in Jase and Carly: Summer Lovin’ when she showed up to get some piercings from Jase. Eventually, after a little misunderstanding, Tara and Carly become friends. Tara’s first run-in with Cyrus doesn’t go very well when her jealous boyfriend Tony comes tearing into the picture. Both products of less than ideal pasts and plagued by loss, Cyrus and Tara are a pair of shattered hearts that will either heal each other or cause complete and total destruction. Broken down by her past, Tara doesn’t know what it means to be loved by someone and she finds herself stuck in a bad relationship where she has no power and no control. I loved the dichotomy of her personality. She was damaged and shutdown yet she exuded warmth and kindness towards others. Tara clings to the hope that there is something more out there for her and as she finally starts to fight for it, you can’t help but want to be in her corner. Cyrus is just as delicious as Jase. With Tara his protective nature is unleashed and I would not want to get in his way! The attraction between these two is electric and watching them try to resist temptation is absolutely thrilling. In true M.J. Fields fashion, Cyrus and Tara’s story was a fun and emotional journey. This book was filled with moments of laughter, frustration, joy, devastation and some very steamy moments of lust. Cyrus was a wonderful addition to the Men of Steel series.

My Review 4.8 Star Review – Cyrus (Men Of Steel #2) I recommend this book. I enjoyed this book by M.J. Fields. This book includes passion, laughs, and heartache. Cyrus met Tara at a party. When he tries to save her from a jerk she does not want saved. She leaves with a jerk named Tony. Cyrus is mad as he knows Tony is no good and he feels Tara needs to be protected from him. When he sees her out at a club one night he protects her and helps her leave the hostile environment. Tara feels she has no one since she no longer has Tony so she runs. Cyrus tries to track her down before Tony can find her. In order to do that he must dig into her past. Cyrus does not do relationships. Tara deserves a man that does but can Cyrus let he go so she can find the man that will love her the way she deserves? Or can he love her like she deserves? Love these two characters they go together well. The are both a little broken and learn to heal each other. Men Of Steel #1 - Jase Men Of Steel #1.5 - Jase and Carly

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. I gave this book 5 stars.  This is book 2 in the Men of Steel Book. Let me say this too .. this can be read as a stand alone. BUT i would suggest that you read the 3 books before this. Yes this is number two but there is a .05-- a 1 and a 1.5 to be read. You will get a little confused and probably  not enjoy it as much if you read this one first.  This is Cyrus and Tara's story. Here we go... Cyrus is a troubled alpha male, who is not all about candy and flowers. He is blunt and says how it is. Tara, I loved her she is such a strong female character who has just got bad things out of life, and is looking for more, needing more. These two together are life on fire!  I read Jase before I read this and I was a little scared that I wouldn't enjoy it as much because Jase is .. I mean come on it's Jase. but Cyrus was just wow. So much different then his brother, but just as toxic ..  These bad boys are an inferno !!  What do you get when you put an alpha male together with a girl that is just as strong. You get Cyrus and Tara and a whole lot of OMG's !!  Tara is tired of being hurt and Cyrus is just the man she needs to stand up to her and tell her how it is, how beautiful she really is. And the soft part of Tara? Yeah Cyrus for sure needed her.  When we are introduced to her in Jase's book I just knew she was going to be a strong character and needed to be with one of the Steel men. They need to have strong leading ladies that won't let them get away with all their crap. And she is just the girl to do it. She has been hurt in life but that doesn't mean that she is not a feisty firecracker.  Yes it is tough to love Cyrus, but what better female to do it.. He is going to be hard to tame. But it is going to be fun reading him learn how to be!! haha!! Come on Cyrus' journey as he falls in love with Tara. And see what love is all about.  Thank you MJ for your amazing, wonderful stories. This is not the first that I have read from you and it def will not be my last! Do NOT ever stop writing you have such a gift!!! <3 I look forward to reading the next one!! I am just going to be so sad when we run out of brothers. Momma Joe sure did a good job with all these beautiful men!!!
