Spellcheck was OK in my opinion. I am an archeologist that studied Egyptology. The spelling of Imhotep and the alternate spelling Amenhotep are both considered OK. Keep in mind that no one really knows how to spell the pharaoh's name because it was originally written in hieroglyphics on a royal cartouche nameplate. I am giving it one star to respond to the other one star review. I really liked the topic in this book and I recommend it to anyone who likes archeology for leisure but not for serious scholars because I disagree with the crazy crank theories from the Chariot of the Gods and other ancient alien astronauts scholars. Below are two books that show that the Pharaoh's name can be spelled both ways Imhotep or Amenhotep and to be honest there are other acceptable spelling as well, phonetic spellings are OK too. Some people spell the Pharaoh's name in such a way that they can pronounce it easier, to also help the reader to pronounce it.

The expert Egyptologist say that the pharaoh's name Amenhotep is spelled with an "A" and most archeologist don't spell it Imhotep but this author of this book put both spellings. They put one in parenthesis (Imhotep). I am giving it one star to get everyone's attention. I love this subject but I am sensitive about the spelling of pharaoh's names. Really no one knows how to spell their names in modern language. There are several different possible spellings of the pharaoh's names. Over all I still thought the book was interesting.

This book had a lot of big words that I had to look up in it. It had a lot of science words. I admit I did not read it all the way through. In the first part there were some confusing phrases but after I looked up a few words I thought it was OK.

Interesting concepts clouded by poor grammar. Terribly distracting to read so many typos.
