Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
At this school parents come into the classroom during a special week and talk about their jobs. They range from a mom who works in a knitting store to parents who own and work in an animal hospital. Ayanna is worried because her dad is not like other parents—he has a job that does not seem like a real job, but it is. He may not get dressed up and head out for an office every day but he does have a job, and when he shows the kids what he does he is a big hit. Ayanna is delighted and lets him know that he is the best dad ever. Cartoon-style illustrations fit the story and readers who have parents with unusual or home-based jobs will find this story quite reassuring.
