Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Boyd MacAuley has never gotten over the loss of his wife and their newborn child. He leaves medicine and turns to carpentry, hoping to numb his pain and lose himself in the manual labor. After rescuing Stacy Patterson from an automobile accident that leaves her abusive ex-husband dead, Boyd begins experiencing emotions he thought were long extinct. This beautifully written romance, the first in a series, will leave readers emotionally wrung-out; Riggs has created a powerful, sensitive portrayal of Boyd's attempts to cope with his grief. Riggs (Her Secret, His Child, Silhouette, 1995) lives in Oregon. (JC)
