School Library Journal - School Library Journal
K-Gr 3A tongue-in-cheek picture book about role reversal. Daddy-Care is a play on day care, and it is truly funnyto adults. Son Danny is in charge, from telling Dad, ``Don't dilly dally'' to explaining that ``sometimes even best friends get mad at each oth er'' when Daddy tried to explain why he got in a fight (dramatically pictured) while playing poker after naptime and had to sit in a corner. The wavy water color lines add to the humor and en courage the idea that this is not a story to be taken seriously. It's an unusual presentation of a typical day in the lives of a single parent and child. Morgan makes it clear that sometimes the child is much older and much wiser. Howev er, the story lacks child appeal.Bar bara S. Riley, Elliott R. Hughes School, New Hartford, N.Y.
