I love classic movies and one of my favorites is Daddy Long Legs with Fred Astaire. So last week when I was browsing on the book seller website for books for my nook and came across this title I grabbed it and put it at the top of my To-Be-Read hill (I've reduced it from a mountain to a hill).
I sat down to read it with scenes of Fred Astaire and Leslie Caron dancing (literally) through my head. The books was so well done. It was written in first person in the form of letters over the course of a little over four years. The whole of the book, except for the very beginning, which serves as an introduction, is Judy's Letters to her unknown benefactor who goes by the name of John Smith, whom she calls Daddy Long Legs. Through the four years you follow Judy as her soaks up the world around her through her candid and humorous letters to Daddy Long Legs.
This was a fun easy read, great for a rainy (or snowy) afternoon cozied up under a blanket with some hot chocolate near by. If you haven't seen the movie, Leslie and Fred are not to be missed. In fact, I'm going to see if I can find it on Netflix right now.
