Chapter One THE FIVE PURPOSES OF A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

* * *

You were made to live a purpose driven life! The five purposes of your life are:

1. WORSHIP: You were planned for God's pleasure!

After all this, there is only one thing to say: Have reverence for God, and obey his commands, because this is all that we were created for. Ecclesiastes 12:13 TEV

2. FELLOWSHIP: You were formed for a family!

It was a happy day for him when he gave us our new lives, through the truth of his Word, and we became, as it were, the first children in his new family. James 1:18 LB

3. DISCIPLESHIP: You were created to become like Christ!

God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives in him. Romans 8:29 The Message

4. MINISTRY: You were shaped for serving God!

We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 NIV

5. EVANGELISM: You were made for a mission!

Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." deep into the interior of his purposes. You don't find it lying around on the surface. It's not the latest message, but more like the oldest-what God determined as the way to bring out his best in us, long before we ever arrived on the scene. 1 Corinthians 2:7 The Message

* * *

It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. Ephesians 1:11 The Message

    Extremely helpful in learning to put God FIRST !

    What On Earth Am I Here For? The Purpose Driven Life is a Forty (40) day Journey that begins with YOU and how to start your Walk with Christ. While I am still working with it, I have found very deep and thought provoking subjects. Once we learn to put OUR eyes ON God FIRST, then we are capable of 'helping others.' Since I work on a Website 'Sisters United Against Pornography' on line, I'm constantly buying and READING Books written by Christian Authors. We cannot help any Woman who's Spouse is into Sexual Addictions on the Internet, UNLESS we read AND study the books God leads us to. It's extremely important to 'Have our Personal Relationship with God' in order for ANY Spouse to help the loved one Addicted. AND this Book is absolutely one of the BEST I have read/reading, so I can, in turn, help Wives who don't have their eyes on God FIRST! The Purpose Driven Life, Journal.( I highly recommend )
