Daisy Dawson may look like an ordinary girl, but she has the amazing ability to talk with animals. In this, the fifth installment of her adventures, Daisy is visiting a farm where she is asked by the animals to make it rain. The drought is so bad the duck pond is all dried up. Always one to help if she can, Daisy tries to make it rain. The squirrels suggest the river voles soak up water in their fur, which Daisy and the animals then squeeze into the pond. Hardly even wets on corner. Then they remember that it seems to always rain when they do not want it to. Like at a picnic or on a parade. So they hold a "Farm Day," which is lots of fun, but brings not a drop of rain. When Trixie, the cat, shows up to shoo the other animals out of the barn yard, she explains the cats are holding their annual meeting—which they have been planning for a whole year. Daisy starts to smile. This ought to do the trick and get the rain to start. Sure enough, the clouds gather and soon the rain plummets down, making all but the cats very happy.
