Overview

Homicide detective Brice Marshall's current case has him stymied and frustrated. A serial killer is slaughtering young women. After a long, fruitless day poring over the most gruesome evidence he's ever seen, he needs a break.

Stepping into his cousin's BDSM club is a reminder that there is another part of himself. A part that has been left empty in a life ruled by work. The fact is, he's a Dom in search of a sub. When he bumps into Terryn, a slender redhead who's new to the scene, her wide-eyed eagerness even in the face of her nerves attracts him like gravity.

Terryn is the sub of his dreams, with the power to ease his soul. Without warning the murder case reaches ugly tentacles into the most private part of his world—the woman he wants to claim as his own. The woman whose stubborn search for the delicate balance between sub life and independence could put her directly in the path of the killer.

    Great sequel!

I fell in love with Table for Two and with Ms. Reese's writing style and characters. Damaged Goods was not a let down. It had all the steamy stuff and just enough suspense. It was a little over 400 pages on my nook. I would recommend it for anyone looking to liven up their library. Can't wait for the next one. ;)

This book to me was not as good as Rileys story. It went to fast without developing the characters and the story. For lack of a better term it was a wham bam thank you ma'am and just fell a bit short. An ok book but not a great book

Review originally posted at Romancing the Book

First off the bat, I love that this book incorporates a mystery as a major part of its storyline. It gives the book more meat, a substantial reason for being other than just the sex. The sex, however, is the actual meat of the story, and I loved every spanking and hand-cuffed moment of it.

Terryn is very believable as the small town girl who moved to the city but still retains some of her small town charm. Even though she’s been in New York for a few years, she’s just now beginning to explore her “wild” side with a membership to a BDSM club. This is what makes her a believable character. She’s not a fresh-off-the-bus naïve, young thing. She has moxie and just enough attitude to make it plausible that she would be exploring her “wild” side. And as the story begins, she is exploring and is open to the world of BDSM. She doesn’t tumble into it unexpectedly or try to hold it at bay after discovering that she enjoys being tied up and spanked. This is what I truly liked about this character.

Brice is the typical Dominant hero – a cop who likes to be in control of all around him, including his woman. Again, he is too perfect. I don’t find any flaws in him. No scars. No fears. Nothing. I like flawed heroes so I had a harder time accepting him than I would if he were scared of bees or something. However, for a flawed hero, he is one sexy man and his Dom side is very appealing.

While this story is number two in the series, you don’t necessarily have to have read the first book. The characters from A Table for Three do show up but Damaged Goods takes place two years later. The relationship between all of the characters is fully explained – not glossed over or ignored.

I have to say that I enjoyed this book so much more than the first book, mostly due to the fact of the murders and the mystery. (I’m a diehard mystery/thriller fan.) But I also loved the development of the characters. Not to mention the sex. Lots of sex. Hot BDSM sex.

    great one

it's a sequel for the book "Table for three" and I absolutely loved it. I wish it was a character like this - six foot five w/gorgeous blond hair and blue eyes, who knows how to be a very experienced dom. A happy ending is a good bonus as well.

    Another Home Run

This book started off a little slower for me than ATable For Three. I loved these characters too though.

This is book two in the New York series by Lainey Reese and it’s every bit as good as the first!  There’s plenty of steamy scenes that are scorching and contain plenty of kink.  Brice is after all a Dom and Terryn a new sub.

The characters have great chemistry and strong development with fun interactions among the secondary characters.  We get to revisit the trio from A Table for Three and we meet Gage who is slated to star in book 3.

The plot was more involved than the first and is all about a murder mystery.  It’s fairly predictable, but it adds depth to the romance and helps draw you in and keep you glued to the page.  It also brings out a secondary romance that’s endearing.

Now I will say that there are a couple things that weren’t awesome.  The balance between the romance and the mystery could’ve been a little better and the ending felt a little bit rushed.  I also don’t know how I felt about Brice sharing Terryn, as it just felt a little off despite the fact that that’s a pretty natural part of BDSM life.  Finally, Gage’s speech bothered me a bit because it was a little overdone in the southern accent department.

Overall though, it was a really great read and I can’t wait for the third installment!

I really enjoyed this follow up to Table for Three. Very, very hot. My least favorite part was the descriptions of the murder scenes, I don't usually expect gore in my romances so that threw me at first, but it was certainly necessary to the story. Certainly a story I would read again.

    Okay

I was really looking forward to another book from the author especially reading that it was tied to the characters from Table for Three. Honestly, it just never compared to that book. Nothing really wrong with this book but just not as good as "Table for Three". I think the "serial killer" scenario was a distraction because it just wasn't well developed.

Bought Table for Three couple of years ago, so when I saw DG I jumped and bought it. You don't have to have read T43 to understand this one. This one has it's own theme even though the same charaters are in both.

    AMAZING READ!!!

I highly recommend this book! It has great steamy sex, suspence &erotic romance. It's definitely not for the feint at heart though. You'll laugh out loud and you'll cry. It has alittle of everything. Hot men a hot woman and a great story line. I am definitely a new fan of Lainey Reese.
