I really loved this book and cannot wait to start the next one in the series!  This was a really fast (I finished it in one day!), and incredibly  fun read!!!!

This book did NOT remind me of freaking teen angst Twilight or have extremely poor editing. I, unfortunately, have read much WORSE use of the english language. I think this book is sweet, cute, and fresh. It's light reading that I am happy to have stumbled upon. Actually, it reminded me of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, which I LOVE! The big similarity is the club scene and the name of the club. I will be reading Jared's story very soon. I hope to see much more from this author! It only lost a star because of the similarities and tiny goof up in editing. I totally recommend though, if you are tired of all of the "heavy" stories going around. Loved this!

I really liked the book. Having grown up as a foster child myself I wish I had had someone as fierce as Nicole to watch out for me. I really liked her character along with Damon's well written although i am looking forward to seeing more books from Teresa. I am about to start on the second one and i am sure it will not disappoint. I have read several romance/vampire books lately and i really liked this one. Keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed this book. It was sexy, humorous, and heartwarming. The characters were very interesting. Damon is a wonderfully strong, sizzling protector. I liked the strong human woman, Nicole and I adored Jared. It was very fast paced and I am excited to read the second book.

You often hear the term “Just another Vampire story”. Well Teresa Gabelman has provided readers with a fresh take on this sometimes assumed to be over-exposed genre. I personally love Vampire tales, but due to the volume available, I am also quite picky in my choices. In this new series, Vampires are known to the public as they “came out” two years prior and live among the human race. The Protectors are the elite warriors class of Vampires, tasked with the wellbeing and safety of not only their own, but humans too. This first novel DAMON, sets the foundation for readers by introducing them to this dangerous new world and the fractions within who would exploit both Vampire and Humans alike, for monetary gain. This story is full of humorous banter, dangerous liaisons and Vampires with attitude to spare. It was quite ironic that even though I had already purchased my own copies of DAMON and JARED, I was fortunate to be invited to beta read this novel for Ms Gabelman. The end result was my impatience to read JARED and the knowledge that I had made a good choice when I purchased these books. I hope Ms Gabelman doesn’t keep me waiting too long for book 3 and I dare any lover of the Vampire genre, not to enjoy this series!

I just finished reading Damon and it was great - I couldn't put it down! I liked how it was between Damon and Nicole. A great beginning to a series. A good mix of humor, romance, mystery, and horror. I would recommend this book as a cuddle up for a cold evening with a warm blanket and fireplace. Lots of fresh ideas for the topic of vampires and humans. Can't wait to read Jared!

This is a great read til it seems that the author rushed the ending

Enjoyed the book, but to short at 150 pages. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was only 150 pages and I kinda thought it should be longer. They spent more time apart than together it seemed, with the role of serious protector and earnest vulnerable little woman playing through out. However, I've read way worse and will see if the second book is any better.

Overall Rating:  4.25 Rockin’ Stars Is it possible for two very different species to cohabit one world?  In this first book in Teresa Gabelman’s series, The Protectors we are placed in a world where vampires are real and humans must learn to live and work with them.  This is the story of an ancient VC warrior and a human woman that learn that living together is possible! Nicole is a dedicated social worker that knows how the system works.  She grew up in foster care and wants to give back to others what was given to her.  Nicole fights for the children that she is responsible for and helps to insure their safety.  Now, however, she is facing a new set of circumstances, vampire children!  Children that have been turned and now need to be placed in foster care.  The added problem is the creation of a new drug called Crimson, a drug made from vampire blood.  Children are being used to make this drug and it is becoming a dangerous world for social workers trying to protect their charges.  When a group of VC warriors are assigned to train her division of social workers, she did not expect to be overwhelmed by one warrior!  Sparks fly and heat sizzles between Nicole and Damon. Damon is a vampire warrior and has lived a long life.  He is haunted by a memory from his past that makes it had to allow himself to let go with any human.  He is set by the Vampire Council to help the humans learn how to protect themselves and to deal with the problems of vampire children.  Damon is having a hard time ignoring the need he feels for Nicole, the feisty social worker. When the two are assigned to work together on her caseload trouble is just around the corner!  Can the two work together?  Or will they succumb to the need they feel for each other? Hero: Damon DeMasters 4.5 stars Heroine: Nicole Callahan  4.5 stars Plot:  4.5 stars Steam Level:  4 stars Cliffhanger:  No Would I recommend this book:  Yes.  This is a great short read that sets up this series.  It is an edgy romance that will keep you reading until the end. Would I recommend this author:  Yes. I am excited about this author and her new series!  Cannot wait for the next book to see where she will take me.

This story was AWESOME!! It had a little bit of everything and Damon and Nicole were an amazing pair. Who wouldn't want someone like Damon as their protector. Also Jared brought a little humor into the picture. I can't wait to read the next saga on Jared. Please keep them coming!!

This writer was new to me. Reviews were positive so I thought I'd give the series a go. NOT DISAPOINTED! Gabelman's style reminds me of J.R. Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood). If you are a fan on that series, you'll truly like Teresa Gabelman's Protector Series. Can't wait for the next one, the one after that, and any more that are in the works.
