This is an effective guide to eating your way to safely losing weight. The weight won't disappear quickly but it is the type of loss that remains off once gone. Amazing how much information is packed in this little book, including carb counts for beverages, and for many fast food restaurants. Also provides counts for calories, fiber, protein, and fat. I've found this book is more useful than great thick tomes which are available, and I've actually purchased two more copies for overweight friends. However, any listing tells you what you may eat, but is only good if you follow the rules ...watch quantities and severely restrict pasta, potatoes, and rice. They taste so good I know, but they are the killers, and creators of FAT!! But one can eat just about anything else - meat, vegetables, and fruit. The amazing thing I have found is that if one follows a low carb diet, one can pretty much forget calories and fat ... low carb is basically low fat, low calorie. Check this book out, you won't be sorry.
